  • Assassin's Creed Mirage update 1.0.8 is launching tomorrow, April 9.
  • Weighing in at up to 5.31 GB, the game's fifth update to date will be focused on polishing its existing features instead of introducing new ones.

Assassin's Creed Mirage update 1.0.8 is set to roll out on Tuesday, April 9, at 4am PT / 7am ET / 1pm CET. The upcoming patch will introduce fixes for some Assassin's Creed Mirage quest bugs and performance improvements, among other changes.

The latest mainline entry in Ubisoft's popular open-world franchise debuted to predominantly positive reviews in early October 2023. Since then, Ubisoft Bordeaux has treated the game to four updates, some bigger than others. The latest such release arrived in the form of Assassin's Creed Mirage update 1.0.7, which expanded the game with the addition of permadeath mode.

In terms of changes, the newly announced 1.0.8 patch will be a much smaller release, largely focused on fixing the game's existing features as opposed to introducing new ones. But one wouldn't be able to conclude that from its download size alone, which will range from 1.89 GB to 5.31 GB, depending on the platform, thus being on par with the game's past patches.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Update 1.0.8 Patch Sizes

  • Xbox Series X/S: ~4.55 GB
  • Xbox One: ~3.15 GB
  • PlayStation5: ~1.89 GB
  • PlayStation4: ~5.31 GB
  • PC: ~3.34 GB

Many of the changes arriving in the next Assassin's Creed Mirage update will be aimed at refining the Full Synchronization Challenge, the game's permadeath mode. E.g., this mode will now be disabled by default when starting a new game, thus minimizing the chances of players activating it unintentionally. Some UI issues specific to the Full Synchronization Challenge have been addressed as well, including a bug that messed with the kill and conflict counts upon successfully completing a permadeath run.

The update also resolves a loading menu issue that sometimes caused saves not to appear correctly during a Full Synchronization Challenge run. Furthermore, the PC version of Assassin's Creed Mirage will correctly detect the PS5 DualSense Edge controller following the new patch. Some menu text changes are also part of the package, together with a number of unspecified stability improvements, which are understood to be targeting all platforms.

One particular fix mentioned in the new changelog concerns Light Blade, an upgrade for Assassin's Creed Mirage throwing knives. Equipping this tool in certain scenarios has so far occasionally led to the aiming reticle misbehaving and randomly locking on to targets without the player prompting it to do so. Ubisoft also found that Light Blade was responsible for an issue causing the game to sometimes charge a knife throw when the player attempted to perform a quick throw. Both of those problems are said to be resolved with update 1.0.8, which also promises to fix a number of quest-specific issues.
