A gamer has recently removed the fog from Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ entire map and shared the result with the community. Despite not having the largest map in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a fairly expansive explorable area, and it was a big feat to manually uncover the whole terrain where the title is set.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released earlier this year, and the open-world game set in Japan was a big hit. Shadows was deemed by Ubisoft as the second-best launch in the franchise, only trailing behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Assassin’s Creed Shadows was also well-regarded critically, and it currently stands with an average critic score of 81 on OpenCritic.

The Case for Assassin's Creed Shadows' Dual Protagonist Approach in a Sequel

Ubisoft should consider featuring dual protagonists in a direct Assassin's Creed Shadows sequel or other future Assassin's Creed games

Now, an Assassin’s Creed Shadows player called stevenator86 shared their latest achievement with the community: the entire map of the game’s Japan without any fog. The gamer shared five pictures of the map, showing all of its areas in detail, and commented that achieving this was a very hard task, even as a completionist. They do not seem to want others to struggle as much as they did, though, as they also revealed that they hope Ubisoft adds a quality of life update soon that will make it easier to uncover the map. In the post’s comments, most players agreed with stevenator86, as despite Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ map being smaller than others in the series, it’s still massive, so it can be bothersome to uncover small fogged areas after discovering much of the game’s real content.

Assassin's Creed Shadows' Map Complete Without Fog

Luckily, gamers will have a reason to come back to Assassin’s Creed Shadows and explore more of 16th-century Japan soon. Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ 1.0.6 update will add new features to the game, including a new questline, some characters, a Nightmare difficulty mode, and some quality of life improvements. Among the highlights of the update is Rufino, a character who will be recruitable as an ally for Yasuke and Naoe.

Avid map explorers will also be glad to know that the “Claws of Awaji” DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows may be released soon. According to reports from insiders, Ubisoft could be planning to release the DLC in September, which will add a considerable explorable area for gamers, the Island of Awaji beyond Osaka Bay, and will likely be the largest addition to AC Shadows since its release. Hopefully, the DLC will maintain the game’s overall quality, bringing in a gripping storyline and maybe some new mechanics for the popular open-world title.
