Summary
- Assassin's Creed Shadows on the PS5 Pro will offer players a choice between Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced mode for different graphical enhancements.
- 20 minutes of gameplay footage has also been released.
- The game is scheduled to launch on March 20 after several delays.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows players can now see the enhancements the PS5 Pro makes to Ubisoft’s latest historical action game, in addition to a small look at its dual protagonists. The Assassin’s Creed series is finally headed to feudal Japan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which tells the interlocking story of Yasuke, a samurai warrior based on a real-life historical figure, and Naoe, a female shinobi looking to avenge the murder of her family.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on March 20, and Ubisoft has been revealing more about the upcoming trek through ancient Japan in the lead-up to its release. Among the areas being shown off are Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ weapon customization and story progression, which only requires players to use one of the game’s two playable protagonists. Yasuke and Naoe each have their own unique specialties and playstyles, with the former being more geared toward direct confrontation while the latter employs the stealth and parkour of more traditional Assassin’s Creed characters.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Reveals Release Time and Pre-Load Details
Ubisoft reveals the official global release timings and pre-load details for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Ubisoft recently provided a closer look at how these two playstyles work in a new Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay trailer, which is available to watch on the official PlayStation YouTube Channel and highlights the different ways that Yasuke and Naoe can approach combat, stealth, and navigation. PlayStation also posted a list of technical enhancements that will be made available on the PlayStation 5 Pro, with three special graphics modes exclusive to the updated console in addition to the ones being offered on the base PS5.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Cuts Deeper On PlayStation 5 Pro
The Performance Mode of Assassin’s Creed Shadow s on the PS5 Pro (which emphasizes smoother framerates over sharper graphics) uses Standard Ray Tracing and runs at 60 FPS with 2160p upscaled resolution. The PS5 Pro Fidelity Mode shifts the focus toward graphical horsepower with a 2160p upscaled resolution, 30 FPS, and Extended Ray Tracing that is used to compute global illumination for diffuse lighting and reflective surfaces throughout the game world. Finally, players with a 120/240hz display and HDMI 2.1 cord can set Assassin’s Creed Shadows to Balanced Mode for 2160p upscaled resolution, 40 FPS, and Extended Ray Tracing.
As the first Assassin’s Creed game developed exclusively for the ninth generation of consoles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is already visually impressive from what has been shown so far. The new graphical settings of the PlayStation 5 Pro console will likely make Yasuke and Naoe's journey to take down their enemies in feudal Japan look even better when Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on March 20.
