Where to Find Bouncevine in Astroneer
Bouncevine can be found on the surface of Sylva, the third planet in Astroneer's solar system as well as the planet players start out on. Sylva has plenty of flora along the surface of the planet as well as throughout its caves, but those looking for Bouncevine must head towards the mountains. This defensive plant grows on mountain slopes but, as each planet is procedurally generated in each new save file, there is no common cardinal direction players should head.
It is important to note that Bouncevines live up to their name if players get too close. This defensive flora has the ability to launch players a fair distance, making their location along mountain slopes a potential disaster. It is easy to take a step too close and experience too much fall damage. Fortunately, harvesting these plants renders them harmless.
How to Harvest and Use Bouncevine in Astroneer
Harvesting Bouncevines along the mountain slopes can be done with the same Terrain Tool players use to harvest other materials like Hematite in Astroneer. The plant will burst and drop at least a single seed, which players can add to their inventory to use later on. These seeds can be planted in almost any terrain.
To plant a seed in Astroneer, players need to hit the Use key (F on PC, Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, and X on the Nintendo Switch). This will begin the plant's growth process, and it should only take a few minutes for it to be ready to harvest or use.
