There are several shortcuts in Atomfall's Interchange facility that you can use to get around the quarantine zone. This includes a sneaky way inside Skethermoor Prison that will lead you directly to an important NPC who may be able to provide you with an escape route. To open this shortcut up, you'll need to operate a crane. Unfortunately, the keycard that gets you inside the Crane Control Room is missing.
Atomfall: B 887126 Control Room Key Location
Atomfall has all kinds of control rooms, and the key to this one is pretty well hidden. Here's how to find it.
If you want to get inside the Crane Control Room, you'll have to find that keycard. But to do that, you'll have to sneak or fight your way past some deadly security measures first. For those struggling, here's how to get the Crane Control Keycard in Atomfall.
Where To Find The Crane Control Room Keycard In Atomfall
Before you can find this keycard, you first need to power up The Interchange with an Atomic Battery. The earliest ways to acquire an Atomic Battery are either by trading with Molly Jowett in Slatten Dale or completing the St. Katherine's Church Lead to get the Vicar's Key from Vicar McHenry and open up a chest on the church's second floor.
If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you can kill Molly or Vicar McHenry to grab these Atomic Batteries even quicker.
Once you have a battery, enter The Interchange and head to the Central Processor Room. There will be a console called the Bootstrap System Terminal that will have a slot where you can insert an Atomic Battery. The Interchange will now be partially powered up, but you'll have to restore power to four Data Stores in the facility to get it fully back online.
Of these Data Stores, the one you need to power up to find the Crane Control Room Keycard is Data Store Bravo. Unfortunately, the only way to access Data Store Bravo is through an entrance in Skethermoor that is heavily guarded by Protocol soldiers. The safest way to get to Skethermoor is by getting on the good side of The Protocol's leader, Captain Sims. He'll ask for information about what's happening in Wyndham Village, which can include telling him about Iris' infected husband at the bakery or the murder that occurred at St. Katherine's Church. If you provide him with intel that he deems valuable, he'll consider you trustworthy enough to enter Skethermoor without being hassled by his soldiers.
If you don't want to work with Sims, there is a shortcut to Skethermoor through the Slate Mine Caves in Slatten Dale, which is found at the coordinates 28.9 E, 71.1 N.
Skethermoor's entrance to The Interchange is at the coordinates 39.6 E, 73.1 N. It'll be located within a Protocol Camp and will have an automated turret guarding the door. Head inside, and there will be Protocol soldiers patrolling the area. Take them out or sneak by them, and go downstairs. You'll find the closed quarantine door to The Interchange, which you'll need to open up using the console above.
Be careful as you enter The Interchange, as there will be Feral enemies on the other side of the quarantine door.
Crawl under a shutter that you'll find up ahead, and Data Store Bravo will be on the other side to the left. Have an Atomic Battery in your inventory and then insert it into the battery terminal to power up Data Store Bravo. Then, head to the lower level and use a lock release to exit out into an area that leads to the Robotics department. One side effect of restoring power to Data Store Bravo is that a shutter to a Maintenance Room that stored a B.A.R.D. Robot armed with a flamethrower will have opened. As such, you'll need to fight the robot or try not to be detected by it.
Atomfall: Datlow Hall Conservatory Key Location
For those looking to get into the Datlow Hall Conservatory in Atomfall, here's how to get the Datlow Hall Conservatory Key.
In that same Maintenance Room will be a blue, emaciated dead body. Loot the corpse, and you'll find the Crane Control Room Keycard.
How To Use The Crane Controls In Atomfall
The Crane Control Room can be found across from where you found the keycard on the other side of this area. This spot can be full of Protocol soldiers, B.A.R.D. Robots, and wall-mounted turrets, so it can be difficult to reach. However, an easier way to get to the control room is through Data Store Delta, which makes sense since you'll need to re-activate it with an Atomic Battery to access the Crane Controls. When you power that up, you can use a door on the upper level that will lead out to the Crane Control Room. Either entrance will have a keycard reader that you can use to get inside.
In this room will be a note titled "To Whom It May Concern." This will mention the Signal Redirector, which is a hint that you'll need one to operate the crane. There will be a console with the Crane Controls lever that you'll need to power up. Near the desk with the note will be an electrical box with a yellow light. Use the Redirector on it, then look up at the ceiling to find another electrical box that requires some re-directing. Then, there will be one other electric box on the ceiling close to the lever. Use the Redirector on that one, and power will be restored to the Crane Controls. Pull the lever and watch the crane pick up a shipping container down in the area that leads to Robotics.
Atomfall: Greenhouse Hut Key Location
Here's how to find the Greenhouse Hut Key and access the Garden Centre in Atomfall.
This will open up a new area that was blocked off by the shipping container. Head over there while watching out for Protocol soldiers or robots. There will be a wall-mounted turret in this new section that you should deactivate with the Signal Redirector. Underneath it will be a B.A.R.D. Crate with a Training Stimulant inside.
You can also find the John Steel Case-Book - Gunpoint - Thriller Picture Library 443 lunchbox around here if you have a Metal Detector.
The most notable thing about this area will be the entrance marked Deliveries. This will actually lead you to the lower level of Skethermoor Prison, where you'll find an NPC named Dr. Garrow being held captive.
