St. Katherine's Church is a prominent location in Wyndham Village. There, Vicar McHenry claims to help the citizens of the village, although like most characters in Atomfall, he has his own ulterior motives. The church itself has much to offer to players, like a locked chest upstairs that has an important item inside.
If you want to open up this chest, you will need the Vicar's Key. But how can you convince Vicar McHenry to hand it over?
Atomfall: How To Find Jenks (Datlow Hall Lead)
It's time to find a butler for an eccentric wealthy woman and uncover some dark family secrets. Here's where to find Jenks in Atomfall.
Where To Find St. Katherine's Church In Atomfall
Wyndham Village is a location you can reach from Slatten Dale. After entering the village and speaking with the Protocol soldier guarding the entrance, you can head forward to find St. Katherine's Church at the coordinates 33.0 E, 78.8 N on the map. Enter the church, and you'll find the ghastly scene of Vicar McHenry and Pamela Shaw standing over the corpse of a woman named Maisie Williams. This will begin the St. Katherine's Church lead where you can investigate the murder.
Speak with the vicar, and he'll ask you not to tell anyone about Maisie's death. You can search her body to find a letter she wrote. She was investigating an individual for Vicar McHenry, who turns out to be the owner of the Village Shop, Morris Wick. If you travel to the Brewery Cellar at the coordinates 30.5 E, 80.5 N, you can find letters that will incriminate Morris as the murderer of Maisie.
How To Get The Vicar's Key In Atomfall
There are a few ways that you can get the Vicar's Key. Most of them will come as a result of the St. Katherine's Church Lead, but you don't necessarily need to complete this side quest to gain the key.
Here's how you can find the Vicar's Key
- If you confront Morris with the letters you found in the Brewery Cellar, you can threaten to either tell Captain Sims about the murder or tell him to leave the village. You can also just murder Morris in cold blood. Any of these options will please Vicar McHenry. As a reward, he will give you the Vicar's Key when you speak with him.
- Alternatively, you don't need to confront Morris or even investigate the murder. Instead, you can kill Vicar McHenry and then loot the Vicar's Key off of his corpse.
- If you tell Captain Sims about the murder but don't kill Vicar McHenry, he won't be at the church later. The vicar will be sent to the Skethermoor Prison for going against The Protocol. In that case, you can head to the prison and find his corpse in one of the cells. Loot his body, and he'll have the Vicar's Key on him.
If you let Morris get away with Maisie's murder, he'll reward you with the Crafting Manual, which will unlock new skills that enhance your crafting abilities. You can then return to the church and kill the vicar to get his key as well.
Once you have the Vicar's Key, head upstairs inside the church. There will be a locked chest on the second floor that you can unlock with the key. Inside will be a special item called an Atomic Battery, which is necessary to power up sections of The Interchange.
