Attack on Titan has become an anime that is known and recognized worldwide. The Attack on Titan anime started in 2013 with its first anime season, and ended around 2 years ago, in 2023, much to the dismay of many fans. With such a big anime concluding, fans have been looking for the next big anime that lights up the same excitement in them that Attack on Titan did, and that anime is now officially coming.
Attack On Titan Is Making A Comeback With A New Project
Attack on Titan is getting a major new project, and fans are excited.
Indeed, Code Geass has a new project lined up in celebration of the franchise’s 20th Anniversary. This project is a brand new anime of the name of Code Geass: Aspar the Star Chaser. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Attack on Titan have always been compared, and if this new Code Geass anime is anywhere as good as the original, it could definitely become the perfect replacement for the AOT anime.
Code Geass’s New Anime is Coming to Replace Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is a wildly popular anime series that fans saw officially conclude in 2023. Since that conclusion, fans have only gotten recompilation movies as new official content, and some other small glimpses here and there.
But now, Code Geass, a legendary anime franchise, is making a grand return, and it could very well go on to replace Attack on Titan, if it’s any good.
This new anime series is called Code Geass Hoshi Oi no Aspar, which can be translated to Code Geass: Aspar the Star Chaser. This new project was just announced, and it will be made in celebration of the franchise’s 20th anniversary which is coming up.
There is very little that fans know about this new Code Geass anime project, but the only hope and expectation that they have is for it to be at least somewhat as good as the first Code Geass anime, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
The Original Code Geass Can Be Put On The Same Level As Attack On Titan
Attack on Titan is quite a unique anime when compared to everything else that was being released around its time. It’s a shonen, but it’s quite darker than the average series. What made Attack on Titan really stand out, aside from its gruesome nature, is definitely its characters, especially Eren Yeager, its main character.
Something similar could be said about Code Geass. Code Geass is a more mature anime, and what made it truly stand out from the rest is its terrific main character, Lelouch.
Many consider Lelouch one of, if not the best anime main characters to ever exist. Fans would especially compare Lelouch and Eren. They’re somewhat similar characters, especially in Eren’s later arcs after the timeskip.
Code Geass: Hoshi Oi No Aspar Has The Potential To Stand Next To The OG Series
Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar is highly anticipated by Code Geass fans, but of course, there are some concerns as well. Everything that's come after the original Code Geass anime has not been comparable to Lelouch’s main story.
Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, for example, was a huge flop, and generally, the consensus of fans is that it was an average anime, at best. Bokuko no Akito was somewhat better, but still not as good as the original.
If Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar is like Rozé, it will definitely not be an acceptable replacement for Attack on Titan. Hopefully, the writers can craft a story of similar grandeur to the original Lelouch of the Rebellion.
Fans definitely hope the new anime is detached from Lelouch’s story, however, and crafts something new that’s just as exciting.
