About Alex Kelly

Professionally, Alex has leaned into the jack-of-all-trades style of careers. Her background is in creative writing, traditional art, digital art, and improv theater. Starting in Animation, Film/TV, and Theater, she ventured into Graphic Design and then into Marketing/Advertising. In the last 6 years, She has worked as a Creative Director for advertising houses, game studios, and in a freelance capacity. Personally, Alex enjoys creating interactive video games, twitch streaming, LARP-ing, renaissance faires, building haunted houses, teaching Paint & Sip classes, karaoke, camping with her friends, and board games with her family.

Favorite Games

As with many things in life, Alex refuses to pick one favorite when one can also pick multiple. She has a handful of favorite games for various reasons. Minecraft has remained a favorite since she started playing in Beta, though she mostly stuck to modpacks like technic and FTB. The Bioshock series is near and dear to her heart, the memory of finishing Infinite and being unable to move or process anything for about 10 minutes sticks with her. Skyrim will always be a big part of her gaming history and replays. Dishonored not only for gameplay but art style is so aggressively up her alley. Hades 1 and 2 have her in a death grip with no sign of letting go. Alex has been a die hard Lara Croft fan ever since playing the PC games, then PS2, then to PS4 and loving all the movies. During the pandemic, Alex nearly joined the Overcooked 2 league as she is masochistically in love with that game however they were no longer active. Risk of Rain 2, PlateUp!, Helldivers 2, Monster Prom, and For the King are favorites to play with her partner. Shadows of Doubt has been increasingly fun as well.

Favorite Console

Again having several favorites here, Alex’s first console was the Sega Genesis. Sonic and Altered Beast were her and her sister’s Saturday Morning favorites. They soon had a family PC and Wii which both offered so many fun games. The PS2 will always have a special place for her however, as her family was able to play 4-Player Medal of Honor (all expansions, but their favorite is European Assault) and a lot of other one-off PS2 random games like Rattotouille that make her heart happy. Lately, she appreciates her PS4 and spends most of her time gaming on her personalized tower PC lovingly named The Enterprise.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

For Alex, two games come to mind immediately with this question. The first time she beat Overcooked 2; it was 3 AM and she had been playing it all night/day. The other is Hades 1 and 2; of course, beating Hades was important but honestly, the build-up to becoming strong enough of a player for each big boss is so satisfying each time and the only one left is (spoilers!) Chronos in 2. She will party that day.
