About Alex Trent

Alex is a writer on The Best War Games and a complex story appreciator with a soft spot for fantasy anime. He likes films and shows that boast strong characters and complex worlds. Alex thinks the best kinds of stories allow the viewer to get immersed quickly, to the point that the characters' choices can feel like your own.

His favorite anime series include One-Punch Man, Vinland Saga, Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass, Dororo, Monster, Hunter x Hunter, and Mob Psycho 100. He believes that great shows focus on the strengths of the anime format and do more than simply translate any source material for a new audience.

As a writer, Alex enjoys tackling creative projects that present an opportunity to connect details and tell an interesting story. He also enjoys exploring complicated topics while balancing different perspectives. Alex believes learning about conflicting ideas and then figuring out how they fit together to create something new is one of the best parts of writing. He has a B.A. in Journalism.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

My proudest gaming achievement is 100%-ing every collectible platformer I've played, which includes titles like Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and the Mario series.

Favorite Games

My favorite video games include The Binding of Isaac, Terraria, Palworld, Plate-Up, Banjo-Kazooie, and Pokémon.

Favorite Console

My favorite video game console of all time is the SNES. While it may just be nostalgia speaking, it had a solid run of hits like Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country, and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
