About Demaris Oxman
Demaris is a reader, writer, and gamer from Juneau, Alaska. She has been writing about games, movies, and other pop culture phenomena since 2015. Demaris has a particular fondness for fantasy and science fiction, and loves examining the details in impossible worlds like those of Doctor Who, Star Trek, The Elder Scrolls, and more.
Favorite Games
I love complex worldbuilding and engaging narratives. Professor Layton and Pokemon were the first games I fell in love with as a kid. Skyrim was my first open-world game, and introduced me to a whole new way to get lost in a story. Lately, Baldur's Gate 3 and Hades are at the top of my favorites list.
Favorite TV Shows
As a sci-fi lover, two of my all-time favorites are Fringe and Firefly. I've always loved Star Trek and have a soft spot in my heart for the Voyager series and its underrated characters. Fantasy, though, is my favorite genre, so I'll sit and wait patiently until the Belgariad book series is adapted for TV.
Industry Focus
Features and editorials on movies and TV shows, specifically science fiction, that offer insight into the complex aspects of these stories and the worlds that they create. I love exploring the running themes in my favorite media, and examining fictional technologies that other fans may want to learn more about.
