Favorite TV Shows
Lost, to me, is one of the best shows of all time. No other show I've seen manages to catch my attention and get me as invested in the characters' lives and backstories. Plus, TV shows these days are too short- who can grow to love a character after only 10 episodes?
Favorite Console
I think in my hearts of hearts I'm a Nintendo guy. My first console was a Gameboy Color and I took that thing everywhere. Then, when the Wii came out I was head over heels for the creative and unique Wii-mote gameplay. And now, of course, I adore the portability of the Switch.
Favorite Movies
Two very different answers: Titanic and Inception. Both appeal to different parts of me. Titanic is peak cinematic drama and offers something for everyone. Inception itches the part of my brain that loves a sci-fi thriller, and it's always a treat to rewatch and see what new details I find.

The Best Indie Games With A Monochromatic Art Style
Monochrome is an art style where artists use only one or a few colors to create their art. These styles are very distinct and stand out, especially in indie games where minimalism often heightens atmosphere and emotion. So today on TheBestWarGames, we’re highlighting the best indie games with a monochromatic art style.
The 6 Racing Games With A Great Sense Of Speed
A good racing game can be thrilling experience. However, not all games capture that exhilarating sense of speed equally. While hardcore driving simulators focus on realism without too many tricks, arcade racing games are known for using a variety of techniques to deliver a heart-pounding rush. Key elements like adjusting the field of view (FOV), adding motion blur, and incorporating dynamic camera shaking and sound effects all play a role in enhancing the speed sensation. And while motion blur used to be a staple, developers now rely on other methods to keep visuals sharp without losing that adrenaline-pumping feeling. So today on TheBestWarGames, we’re going over the six arcade racing games with the best sense of speed.
Why Haunted Chocolatier Fans Shouldn't Expect an Early Access Period
The most frustrating aspect of Haunted Chocolatier, ConcernedApe's second major project, is the lack of information about its release date. Building on the foundation set by Stardew Valley, the game is expected to feature similar aesthetics and gameplay while introducing new narrative and mechanical elements. This has naturally piqued the interest of Stardew Valley fans, especially those who have already explored all its content over the last eight years. The anticipation is high, but the chances of Haunted Chocolatier launching in early access appear slim, despite the trend of indie games like Hades 2 doing so.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Can Take Inspiration From Red Dead 2's Marketing
As 2025 approaches, Grand Theft Auto 6 stands as the most anticipated game of the year. Despite ongoing speculation about its open-world gameplay, story, and online content, Rockstar has remained tight-lipped, offering little beyond the reveal trailer from December 2023. Now, as the end of 2024 nears, fans are eager for more information, but Rockstar's next move remains uncertain.
2024 Sees One Classic Nintendo Franchise Taking a Break
Nintendo has maintained its dominant position in the gaming industry for over thirty years due in large part to its impressive catalog of exclusive franchises. Among these, Kirby has been one of Nintendo's most dependable series for over a decade, with the character first introduced in Kirby's Dream Land on the Game Boy in 1992. However, 2024 has seen a rare pause in Kirby releases, marking only the third time since 2010 that a new entry hasn’t been added to the franchise. This hiatus has led fans to speculate about what might be next for the pink puffball.

Developer-Publisher Nexon Announces Layoffs
Nexon, the developer-publisher behind titles like Dave the Diver and The First Descendant, is reportedly cutting jobs at its US office as part of a reorganization. Nexon, originally founded in South Korea but now headquartered in Japan, is the latest in a string of companies impacted by industry-wide layoffs. These cuts follow a larger trend, with even major players like PlayStation and Insomniac Games downsizing due to economic pressures and restructuring needs.
Controversial The Day Before Developer Is Making Another Game
In a bid to make a comeback, Fntastic has announced a new game, Escape Factory, with a trailer released on September 27. The developer acknowledged the challenges in regaining trust, stating that the game’s development will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign, with refunds promised if the goal isn't met. They also assured the gaming community that all contributions would go directly to the game’s development rather than profit. Given the negative perception around The Day Before, it's unclear how many gamers will actually support this new project.

Dead By Daylight's Cancelled Spin-Off Would Have Solved One Major Gameplay Problem
Dead by Daylight has cemented its place as a leading horror game of this generation, but not all projects tied to the franchise have survived. One such casualty is Project T, a planned spin-off that was canceled before it ever reached players. Unlike Dead by Daylight's core asymmetrical gameplay, Project T was envisioned as a PvE experience—a significant departure for the series. However, despite the excitement that the announcement generated during the game's anniversary stream in May, feedback from playtesters and internal assessments led Behaviour Interactive to shelve the project.
Astro Bot's Next Adventure Already Has a Perfect Release Window
Sony has experienced a rocky few months, with the launch of Concord ending abruptly due to low player engagement just two weeks after its release. Additionally, the announcement of the PS5 Pro was met with mixed reactions, particularly over its controversial price point. Amid this uncertainty, Astro Bot has emerged as a major success, receiving universal acclaim for its 3D platforming and innovative use of PS5 hardware, especially the DualSense controller. Astro Bot combines elements of iconic platformers like Super Mario 64 with modern mechanics, positioning it for a bright future.
LEGO Horizon Adventures May Be a Great Refresher Before Horizon 3
This holiday season, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch players can experience the Horizon world in a new light with LEGO Horizon Adventures. As the fourth entry in the Horizon series, this game is designed to appeal to both newcomers and long-time fans, with no prior knowledge of the previous titles required. However, the story is expected to retell the events of Horizon Zero Dawn in LEGO’s signature humorous style. With Horizon 3 still years away, LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a fun way to revisit key story moments from the original game.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Doubles Down on One Key Aspect of the Franchise
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is generating excitement for its innovative take on the series. Unlike previous entries, this game will follow Princess Zelda herself, as Link has fallen to a mysterious blight. Echoes of Wisdom shifts away from the traditional action-focused combat, opting for slower, more methodical gameplay with an emphasis on magic. This major departure in mechanics highlights the unpredictability that has long defined the Zelda franchise.
Playable Ghouls in Fallout 5 Could Change the Series Going Forward
The lore of Fallout has expanded into a rich narrative that explores a post-nuclear world filled with radiation-fueled mutants and humans struggling to survive in harsh, rebuilt communities. Among the most intriguing elements of the franchise's Great War aftermath is the existence of Ghouls. These transformed humans, who have been exposed to radiation for extended periods, gain immunity to its harmful effects but at a significant cost: they resemble decaying skeletons more than living beings. Following the success of the live-action Fallout series and Walton Goggins' notable performance as The Ghoul, speculation has arisen about the possibility of a Ghoul protagonist in the next Fallout game. If realized, this concept could significantly impact the narrative direction of the series.
Grand Theft Auto 6's Music Controversy with Heaven 17 Explained
Music has always been a core part of the Grand Theft Auto experience. From the iconic 80s tracks in Vice City to the diverse radio stations in each new release, licensed songs help shape the atmosphere of the game. Players often spend hours driving through GTA's vast worlds, and the real-world music playing on the in-game radio adds to the immersion. For Grand Theft Auto 6, fans are eagerly anticipating another rich catalog of songs, but controversy has now emerged around how Rockstar compensates artists for their contributions.
Why Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's Tri Rod Can't Live Up to the Master Sword

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Needs to Double Down on Automatons
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is making waves with its innovative features, most notably by placing Princess Zelda as the main playable character for the first time. A recent trailer introduced the return of Dampe, a character who traditionally played the role of gravekeeper in past games. This time, however, Dampe takes on a new role as an engineer, creating Automatons—mechanical devices that assist Zelda in her fight against Hyrule’s enemies.
Why The Next Animal Crossing Game Would Suffer Without This NPC
The Animal Crossing series is beloved for its wide array of unique characters, each offering something distinct that appeals to fans. With so many characters, it's always uncertain which ones will return in the next game, but some have become so iconic that it's hard to imagine a new entry without them. One such character is Redd, whose shady business dealings have left a lasting impression on fans. Despite his questionable nature, Redd adds depth to the gameplay, making his return a golden opportunity the next Animal Crossing shouldn't miss.
More PlayStation Franchises Should Take an InFamous Approach
Sony’s exclusives have always been some of the industry’s most iconic, including franchises like God of War and The Last of Us, known for their compelling stories. The recent release of Astro Bot celebrates PlayStation's history, giving fans a nostalgic look at the company’s past hits. One of the standout moments in Astro Bot is a nod to Cole MacGrath from the InFamous series, which raises the question of how InFamous could inspire future PlayStation games.
