J. Scott Thurlow is a Senior Contributor based in the NYC Metropolitan Area. While he is not actually Alan Wake, Scott has been ranting about games since falling in love with them at a young age. After attaining Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and English, he co-founded a podcast and was lead content creator for the Games & Gaming Culture section. He joined The Best War Games as a Features Specialist (Alan Wake 2) in 2023. Scott has written about or covered games, as well as other media, for over 15 years.

Scott grew up as a "console kid" with the NES and SNES, which he considers his "golden age" of gaming. He would continue with the N64, Xbox 360, and PS4 in the following generations. Currently, he owns an Xbox Series S as well as a PS5, which he splits his time and games between.

Scott works on a variety of sectors for The Best War Games, focusing largely on features in addition to critical analysis and industry insight. He also covers and assists with interviews, press events, and exclusives, as well as helping out with the occasional guide.
