About Josh Cotts
Josh Cotts is a Senior Contributor at TheBestWarGames. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2019 with a B.A. in Mass Communications & Media Studies and has been recognized for his writing ability since grade school. He has been gaming for over 30 years, with a long-standing love for RPGs, action-adventure games, and narrative-driven experiences. While he now prioritizes family above all else, with gaming mostly reserved for late nights after everyone is asleep, it remains his biggest hobby and a way to briefly escape into his favorite virtual worlds.
Industry Focus
Josh covers a wide range of game genres, with a particular passion for RPGs and narrative-driven experiences. His work focuses on game design, player agency, and how mechanics, worldbuilding, and storytelling come together to shape memorable experiences.
Favorite Games
Josh is unique in that he can enjoy and appreciate almost any video game. Thankfully, this makes him a very versatile writer and allows him the ability to write about almost any topic. That being said, his favorite franchises and those he is most knowledgeable in are The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, Star Wars, Marvel's Spider-Man, Assassin's Creed, Super Mario, Destiny, and God of War.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
It's difficult to narrow down what his proudest gaming achievement would be, as he has a long history with gaming. That being said, one of his more recent gaming achievements involves logging a collective 5,000+ hours in Destiny 2. He is also proud of the many games that he has completed all of the achievements/trophies for, which make up an extensive list.

Stardew Valley Could Leave a Delicious Legacy for Haunted Chocolatier
Cooking seems to be a central element in Haunted Chocolatier, as one of the game's screenshots shows an open cookbook with recipes for a Chocolate Bar and a Simple Truffle. Cooked items in the game can benefit players when consumed, but their primary purpose is to be sold at the confectionery store, which is the core of the game's premise. Given this emphasis on cooking, a real-life Haunted Chocolatier cookbook would make perfect sense and would likely focus on baking, making it more accessible than the full meal recipes found in the Stardew Valley cookbook.
