About Justin Flynn
Justin Flynn is an editor and writer from Ireland. He became a gamer at the age of eight when a mix-up at his local toy store landed him a copy of Kingdom Hearts. Since then, he has earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, Media, and Cultural Studies while also pursuing his love of video games. When he is not writing, he will more than likely be found playing his favorite games, recording music with his band, Vicar, or watching movies with his dogs.
Favorite Games
Though my opinion changes more often than not, I would currently consider Kingdom Hearts 3 (including the Re Mind DLC) to be my favorite game. The series as a whole has had its hooks in me since I was a child, and I can’t imagine it will be relinquishing that grip any time soon.
Kingdom Hearts also nudged me toward the Final Fantasy series, of which I have played almost every entry. Though I could definitely make a case for several of them, Final Fantasy 10 is easily my favorite.
Outside of RPGs, The Last of Us Part 2, The Last Guardian, and Red Dead Redemption 2 are games I consider to be a cut above the rest. I’m a sucker for a good story, and I feel that these titles feature some of the most heartfelt narratives in gaming.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
Strangely enough, two of my proudest gaming achievements come from the same game. The first is defeating Yozora on Critical Mode in Kingdom Hearts 3’s Re Mind DLC, and the second is getting an “Excellent” score when trying to crack an egg in Remi’s Bistro.
I believe one of these to be more difficult than the other, but I will not be specifying which.
Favorite Movies
There’s rarely a week that goes by where I don’t visit my local cinema. I try my best to watch almost everything that comes out, but I definitely have a soft spot for romance stories, coming-of-age tales, absurdism/surrealism, and anything that examines the human condition.
Currently, my favorite movies would be Your Name, Aftersun, Decision to Leave, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire, though this list likes to change. My favorite director, on the other hand, would either be Yorgos Lanthimos or Park Chan-wook.
