About Katie Reul
Katie Reul is an entertainment journalist with past reporting experience at Variety and IGN. She graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Television Writing and Production, where she fell in love with writing about her latest film and TV obsessions. She’s a huge fan of the MCU, Studio Ghibli movies, Harry Potter, and pretty much all things comedy. At Variety, she held a weekly beat reporting on new episodes of Saturday Night Live. When she’s not writing or watching the latest hit shows, you can find Katie comfortably nestled on a couch playing Civilization 6 or buried in a sci-fi novel.
Favorite TV Shows
Katie loves to laugh and has a soft spot for sketch comedy and sit-coms. Some of her favorite comedy shows are Arrested Development, Broad City, Portlandia, Fleabag, and That ‘70s Show. When she’s looking for something a little less light-hearted, some of her other top favorites are Bojack Horseman, Six Feet Under, Beef, Severance, and Succession.
Favorite Movies
An extremely condensed list of Katie’s top movies of all time include Everything Everywhere All At Once, Memento, Parasite, Juno, The Wind Rises, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Beetlejuice, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Favorite Games
Katie’s favorite game series of all time is the Legend of Zelda, and she is extremely proud (and only slightly ashamed) of the amount of hours she’s poured into Breath of the Wild. Her favorite game in the franchise is The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, and many of her other top games of all time hark back to the good old GameCube days — from Super Mario Sunshine to Pikmin 2. She’s a Nintendo fan through-and-through, but some of her other favorite games are Civilization 6, Portal, Undertale, and TeamFight Tactics on League of Legends.
