About Matt Twinley

Matt Twinley is a freelance writer and author from the UK with an unbridled passion for video games and movies. He has been a writer since 2017 and an enthusiastic gamer for even longer.
As soon as he unwrapped a Game Boy Color for his birthday and picked his first Pokémon, he knew it would be the start of a lifelong obsession. Matt loves nothing more than diving into other worlds to be gripped by a story, taken on an adventure, or shown the world in a unique way. He also loves finally overcoming challenges, which probably explains his passion for video games.
Matt is open to playing any single-player game he can come across and loves discovering hidden indie gems, although he tends to replay his old childhood favorites more often than he would care to admit. But his real passion lies in narrative-led stories that take him on a journey.
When he’s not engrossed in a video game or lost in the magic of movies, he can be found playing with his two dogs while he distracts himself from writing his next book.

Favorite Games

The Last of Us, The Witcher 3, Baldur's Gate 3, Uncharted 4, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Monster Hunter, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon Blue - to name just a few. They often involve swords and are nearly always story-focused.

Favorite Console

PS5. Although I do have fond memories of the PS2 - clearly I've been a PlayStation man for most of my life. Although I've just got a gaming PC, so this might all be about to change...

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Finally finishing The Witcher 3 on Death March and seeing that platinum trophy pop up.
