About Megan Smith
Megan (She/They) is a freelance journalist from the United Kingdom for the digital publication, The Best War Games. She has been professionally writing gaming content for roughly four years now, since starting her degree back in 2019. She recently graduated with a First BA Honors Journalism degree in 2022 and has continued to grow her passion.
During her time at The Best War Games, she has created multiple articles that have suggested alternative RPGs to enjoy than the ones that have been recently released, guides for her favorite turn-based strategy title Fire Emblem or rating the best partners in a variety of simulators.
She’s been playing video games ever since she was a little girl and can now be found regularly diving on to her PS5 to play Baldur’s Gate 3 or her Xbox Series X to try out what new games have been added to Game Pass. If she isn’t playing games then she is likely rewatching What We Do In The Shadows, or planning her next Dungeons and Dragons character.
Favorite Games
My top five games of all time have to be Baldur's Gate 3, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Cyberpunk 2077, and Road 96. It's no surprise that I really like RPGs that mainly explore a fantasy setting. Playing Road 96 was a game I played recently and must say it's something I recommend everyone tries once.
Favorite Console
Although I started gaming on the original Xbox when I was little, I have ever since been a PlayStation girl. I can't forget mentioning owning almost every kind of Nintendo DS too. As of right now I currently have a PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and my trusty laptop that rarely sees the light of day. PS5 still comes out on top.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
I have played Dragon Age: Inquisition ever since it first released on the PS3. It might not be the most incredible achievement, but after so many years, I finally got the Platinum trophy for the RPG when I finally moved over to the PS4 and bought the game again. I'm looking forward to the next in the franchise.
