About Nathan Halsey
Nathan Halsey was introduced to the concept of gaming at the ripe age of two years old thanks to a cool uncle, an original Xbox, and a Nintendo GameCube. Young Nathan learned, through self invitation to his uncle's college parties, that video games are catalysts and mediums for social interaction, and he has been enamored by them since. To Nathan, video games are a means to connect to people, a method of dialogue between everyone involved, players and developers alike, across all ages.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
Not just beating Bloodborne, but being able to realise what it was, and what it was saying. I was at a young age when I tried that game, and I could have walked away at any point, but something about it spoke to me. I'm glad I was keen on listening in that moment, because it's changed how I've viewed games since.
Favorite Console
From a nostalgia standpoint, the GameCube. It was such a tactile experience, pressing the tray release, carrying it by the little handle; all the buttons being so clicky. And who can forget those tiny disks? My first ever video game controller was the GCN Spongebob one, and I still have it.
Favorite Anime
Neon Genesis Evangelion. And to anyone thinking that I'm basic, I had no idea what the show was about, or how popular it was when I first watched it. I was watching the original Power Rangers at the time, and thought it would be of a similar tone, but with mechs.
Oh man was it great to be wrong.
