About Rachel Olsen-Cooper

Rachel is a writer on The Best War Games. She has been playing video games since the original Nintendo Entertainment System. She spends lots of time (and money) on games like Marvel Rivals, Halo, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter, and she's Master-ranked in Pokemon Unite. She earned her masters degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University, where she covered esports and gaming with a focus on education, community, and diversity.

Favorite Games

Some of Rachel's favorite games and franchises included Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Pokemon, Mortal Kombat, Kirby, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, Call of Duty, Halo, Devil May Cry, The Last of Us, Destiny, and Supervive.

Industry Focus

Rachel has focused a lot of her time on the esports industry, telling stories of community, diversity, and sportsmanship. She's been a regular at DreamHack Dallas, the Halo Championship Series in Arlington, and the Collegiate Esports Comissioner's cup taking photos and reporting from the field. She has likes to focus news items around games that have an esports presence.

Favorite Console

While Rachel has mostly been playing PC since 2018, her console love still holds strong with the Nintendo Switch. However, her favorite console of all time is still the Super Nintendo. Over time, she has owned just about every Nintendo console made (yes, even Virtual Boy), but she has also owned and wore down the PS2, PS3, and PS4.
