Canyon Reed is not the most powerful reed in the game, and there is actually a better variant in the Upper Plains. That variant is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora's Silt Reed, and superior and exquisite specimens grow on an island in the center of Greatheart Lake. That body of water is situated directly north of the Circle, and perfect Cayon Reeds have a whooping 37 damage.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: Exquisite Canyon Reed Location

Players that are hunting for superior and exquisite Canyon Reed should turn their attention to the Stone Forest Stream, a narrow waterway adjacent to the Great Tusk on the east side of the Upper Plains. Indeed, Canyon Reed grows in that stream, and fans can use Na'vi Senses and the inspect feature to identify rare specimens. For those players that have not yet revealed the Stone Forest Stream and the Great Tusk in-game, these topographical features are approximately 3.6km southeast of the Circle, and they are marked on the following maps:

Once a player has located a superior or exquisite Canyon Reed, they should focus on harvesting a pristine specimen. To collect such a specimen, fans must hold the left joystick to the right while gathering the Canyon Reed, and they can use the vibrations of their controller to confirm that they have the angle required to earn the pristine bonus. That bonus allows a harvested Canyon Reed to have 28 damage, the maximum that is possible for this particular flora in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

To note, players that are interested in collecting a perfect Canyon Reed will also need to gather this Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora material during the day. Indeed, that is when it is at its best quality, and players can quickly adjust the time by resting at one of the game's many campfires. One such campfire can be found at the Cornerstone Station, a Resistance Field Lab at the south end of the Stone Forest Stream.
