Nickelodeon parent company Paramount is teaming up with video game developer Gameplay Group to launch a brand-new fighting game based on the smash-hit animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender, tentatively titled Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. Set to launch in 2026, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will immerse fans into the world and action of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a brand-new way.
Considered by many to be among the best animated TV shows of all time, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the journey of Aang, the titular Avatar and Airbender, as he aims to bring the four elemental nations to peace and unity. The series has been praised for its detailed 2D hand-drawn animation and immaculate fight scenes featuring powers based on fire, water, earth, and air. Looking to bring audiences straight into the action of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the upcoming Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will let players become their own master of the elements in a battle against friends and foes.

Paramount and Gameplay Group released the first official announcement trailer for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, giving players an early look at the familiar faces and vibrant mechanics coming in this new fighting game. Fans will be able to take on the role of beloved characters like Aang, Katara, Toph, and Sokka, as they engage in elemental combat against Zuko, Azula, and more. Korra from the sequel series The Legend of Korra will also make an appearance, though no characters from the spin-off have been confirmed as fighters in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, which is set to launch with 12 playable characters. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will feature a single-player campaign with an original story, support characters that grant special moves, and a "Flow System" for optimal movement-centric gameplay.
