Summary
- Concerns rise as Avowed disappears from Steam libraries.
- Avowed's Steam community hub is also missing.
- Avowed's official site reassures release date despite ominous signs.
Avowed has mysteriously disappeared from the libraries of several players who owned the game on Steam, and fans are worried that this may indicate a possible delay. In another ominous development, Avowed's Steam community hub has also gone dark.
Avowed has been one of 2025's most anticipated titles and is prepped to be one of the year's first major releases. The game was earlier penciled in for a Fall 2024 release but was delayed to February 2025 after the developers stated that they wanted more time to polish Avowed and balance the number of releases on the Xbox Game Pass. However, fans are growing concerned about another possible delay on the horizon.
Avowed's Companions May Not Shatter the Ceiling Created By Baldur's Gate 3, And That's Okay
Expected to release this year with its own set of RPG party members, Avowed has big shoes to fill when it comes to creating iconic characters.
In a post on Reddit, user GAzvd shared that the game is no longer visible in their Steam library, and several other users have corroborated the issue. Despite missing from their libraries, Avowed's Steam store page shows that they indeed own the game. So far, the issue only appears to affect Steam users, as players who purchased it on Xbox are still able to see Avowed in their collection. With just a few days to go before Avowed's release, fans are understandably getting paranoid of a delay.
Avowed Fans Get Skeptical About the Game Getting Delayed
Compounding worries is the fact that SteamDB shows an update pushed yesterday that removed Avowed's early access. This feature was available for users who purchased the Premium Edition, as they would be able to play the game five days before its speculated release date. There is speculation that this is simply a measure to ensure the public can't see when reviewers are playing the game. On the flip side, Avowed's official site recently reiterated its release date, so there's still plenty of hope that it will meet its expected February 18 release date.
Either way, Avowed's community hub section disappearing is a concerning development. The game has attracted some controversy lately for a variety of reasons, be it the lack of a physical version of Avowed or the backlash the developers faced due to their comments, the game seems to be heading into a bumpy launch. Needless to say, a delay at this juncture would not bode well.
