As you make your way through the Garden, Avowed's main late-game region, you'll encounter a huge amount of legendary items and materials. However, one of the best items in the game is locked away in a hidden coffin that requires you to locate the Sarcophagus Key. While some players may find the coffin, others may find the key and have no idea what to do with it. In this guide, we'll show you where to find the Sarcophagus Key, and how to use it to locate one of the best armor pieces in Avowed.

Where to Find the Sarcophagus Key in Avowed
Players looking for Avowed' s Sarcophagus Key will likely realize that it is hidden somewhere in the Garden, as each region of Avowed is essentially self-contained. This means that you'll never find an item for other regions than the one you are currently in. If you stumbled across the Sarcophagus, don't worry, you won't have to go too far to find the Sarcophagus Key.
As you make your way through the Garden, you'll come across a chamber with a small, perfectly round pool of water. It is impossible to miss this chamber, as it is along the main path. You'll know you are getting close when you encounter Kai's hallucination chamber, with Tama on the bed. When you enter this chamber, you'll immediately be ambushed by Skeletons and Moon Spiders.
After clearing the chamber, head through the far door at the end of the chamber. After going through the door, you'll swim down into a deep pool of water, then have to decide whether you're going to follow the right or left path. In this case, you want to head left.
When you come up, you'll see a small rock ledge that you can climb to. From the ledge, you'll see that a large bramble is blocking the exit. Use any fire method to destroy the bramble. If you have Kai with you, use his ability. If not, use a Magran's Fury grenade. Once the bramble is clear, you'll need to create a frozen pad of water to cross the water and reach the exit.
Once you are through the exit, continue to the exit of the cave, but do not jump off the edge. Instead, turn left as you exit the cave, and you'll find the Sarcophagus Key on a dead body. This key will lead to one of the best items in Avowed.
How to Use the Sarcophagus Key in Avowed
If you did not locate the rock sarcophagus earlier in the Garden, we'll show you how to locate it now. To find the treasure, you'll want to start from the Enclosed Grove Camp, the main Party Camp that you'll encounter in the Garden.
Starting from the Adra Waystone, turn and face southwest. You'll see the door that you originally went through to reach the Party Camp. Head back through that door, then turn left and head down the stairs.
As you come off the end of the stairs, you'll see a small sunken area with a golden glow coming from deep inside. Walk to the back of this alcove area, and you'll find the treasure Sarcophagus that takes the Sarcophagus Key. Inside, you'll find the Spiritmender Armor, an incredibly powerful set of legendary medium armor.
