Avowed, like many other modern large-scale fantasy games, features a huge variety of clothing and armor for players to use and collect. However, as players make their way through the game, they may only like the way a few of these items actually look. Even today, some games still stick to the method of forcing players to put function above form, steering clear of any transmog system. Luckily for fans of fashion, Avowed is not one of those games. In this guide, we'll show you how to use Avowed's transmog system, allowing you to change the appearance of any piece of clothing or armor.

How to Use Transmog in Avowed

Avowed's transmog system works slightly differently from many of the systems seen in modern RPGs. Usually, if you want to change the appearance of an item, you'll hover over the item you want changed, and enter some type of menu for that specific item. Some games even work the transmog system into the game itself, which can be interesting at first, but usually becomes tiresome when you need to collect materials every time you want to look cool.

Instead of using these common methods for transmogrification, changing an item's appearance in Avowed has you focus on the item with the target appearance. So, instead of hovering over the item you want changed to enter a menu, you simply equip the item you want to wear, then you highlight the item with the desired appearance and activate Transmogrify.

To Transmogrify an item in Avowed, you simply need to highlight the item with the desired appearance in your inventory and press LT (or the equivalent on a PC or your desired controller). This will switch the appearance of your equipped clothing or armor item to the appearance of the selected item.

Can I Transmog Unique Items in Avowed?

Some games allow you to use their transmog system only on basic gear, but Avowed knows that you want the freedom to change the look of everything in your Godlike's closet. This means, yes, you can change the look of unique items.

Can I Transmog Weapons in Avowed?

At the time of writing, it does not appear that you can use the transmog system in Avowed to change the appearance of weapons. However, there may be a good reason for this. Each weapon we've encountered has been unique to its own weapon class, so there may be limitations to changing weapon appearance under the game's hood.

As we continue to play through the game, we'll update this guide if it turns out that there is a way to use the transmog system to change the appearance of weapons.
