In Avowed, Godlike are a kind of being whose soul has been touched and influenced by one of the Gods of the Pillars of Eternity universe. The main character (the Envoy) is a Godlike, and in the character creator, you can choose to represent your Godlike status with a variety of Godlike Features.
Avowed: Best Way to Get Upgrade Materials (Iron, Pelt, Softwood)
Upgrading equipment is the key to winning fights in Avowed, and getting the resources for it should be one of your top priorities.
Almost every Godlike has an extremely close relationship with their God – except the Envoy, who does not even know who their God is, but still has the option to display Godlike Features and can gain Godlike powers. This guide explains what Godlike Features are in Avowed, and whether you should enable Godlike Features or not.
Avowed Godlike Features – What Are They?
In the character creator, Godlike Features are customizations that display features that represent the Envoy's God – even though we don't know who it is.
For the most part, Godlike Features in Avowed look like vibrant coral, mushrooms, and other fungal, wild growths that spread over your face, head, and hair. There's even one that completely covers your face in a piece of bark, entirely obscuring your facial customizations.
Because of the noticeable changes to their bodies and faces, Godlike stand out in a crowd, and NPCs will often react to your Godlike Features with shock or ridicule.
Avowed: Best Side Quests In Dawnshore, Ranked
Dawnshore is Avowed's first area, and there are plenty of great side activities for players to get stuck into as they start their journey.
This happens even if you don't have Godlike Features enabled on your character's appearance, because your status as a Godlike (and your canon strange features) are important for the Avowed story.
Should I Display Godlike Features In Avowed?
When it comes to the question of whether you should enable Godlike Features, Avowed makes the choice easy because the way you look does not affect the story. If you have Godlike Features completely disabled on your character, NPCs will still react to your character's bizarre Godlike appearance, even if their face is completely normal.
Avowed actually warns players about this if they hover over the Enable Godlike Features toggle in the character creator menu.
Whether your face is disfigured with fungus and wild growths, or your face is among the most beautiful in all Eora, NPC reactions do not change.
So, ultimately, the choice of whether to use Godlike Features or not is up to your own aesthetic taste. Some dialogue moments will make more sense if you have Godlike Features, like when Ilora makes fun of your face in the tutorial. But turning off Godlike Features doesn't influence anything in the game.
