Avowed features a vast and mysterious world filled with all sorts of secrets and surprises waiting to be uncovered. You are encouraged to explore every nook and cranny because there is no telling what treasures and rewards you might find hiding in a corner. This includes various locked doors that cannot be opened with brute force. The Claviger's Estate Key is one such item that you will need to open a room early on in your Dawnshore progression to complete a highly important quest that affects what endings you unlock in Avowed. It is not particularly hard to find but definitely easy to overlook if you are not paying attention.

Where to Find Claviger Eamund's Estate in Dawnshore
Claviger Eamund's Estate can be found in the northern part of Paradis Hightown, known as the government district of Dawnshore. It is located right next to the Temple of Ondra, which serves as a hideout for Ygwulf and his bandits in Avowed.
Search Claviger's Estate for clues instead of the area around the Temple of Ondra. This is because completing the latter objective requires you to bribe or attack Elowe. It is much better to take down a few rebels looting the estate than to lose money or kill a relatively innocent person.
Where to Find Claviger's Estate Key in Avowed
You will see two flights of stairs after entering the main double doors of Claviger's Estate in Dawnshore. Take the stairs on the right to reach a locked door that requires the Claviger's Estate Key in Avowed. This locked room contains the secret page from Claviger's Journal and the Cistern Key you need to progress the Untimely End questline.
Lockpicks are a precious commodity in Avowed. You need them to open chests and lockboxes for valuable loot. Hence, refrain from wasting them on the locked door when its key is located close by.
Now, backtrack and take the left flight of stairs to reach a barred balcony. Climb the ladder on the side and turn left from the edge of the roof to spot a series of wooden platforms and terraces. Make your way across them to reach an open window on the second floor of the manor. This is the same locked room from before. You will find the Claviger's Estate Key hanging from the side of the locked door. Use it to leave the manor, but not before looting the entire place.
Do not forget to loot the attic. It contains a large chest with the White Key Cameo amulet, a unique accessory that restores 50 percent health when you revive a fallen companion.
Also, the guard tower you saw earlier has loot. Make sure to get that as well to sell to a merchant later for more gold.
