The right armor and equipment can dramatically enhance the power and versatility of your Tav and companion character builds in Baldur's Gate 3. Luckily, the game offers a wide range of items that can be acquired through exploration, looting, and purchase or trade with the various merchants you meet along your journey.
When it comes to merchants, Roah Moonglow is one of the few that appear in multiple acts of the game. In each of these instances, she can be found in a different location and will stock new items, meaning it's important to know which ones to keep an eye out for. Everything you need to know about the best Magical Items to buy from Roah Moonglow in each Baldur's Gate 3 act has been included in the guide below.
The Best Magical Items to Buy From Roah Moonglow in Each Baldur's Gate 3 Act
In Baldur's Gate 3, Roah Moonglow is a Halfling merchant who is associated with the Zhentarim faction and ends up becoming a smuggler for the Cult of the Absolute. In Act 1, she can be located within Shattered Sanctum in the Goblin Camp, west of the center room. In Act 2, she will have made her way to Moonrise Towers and can be found on the first floor around the same area as the Bugbear merchant, Lann Tarv. Lastly, in Act 3, she can be found first during the fight after you first meet Minsc, and later in the Guild Master's Office, depending on the outcome of her coup against Nine-Fingers Keene.
You can actually trade with Roah during the Minsc dialogue that proceeds her first appearance Act 3 fight. Depending on your decisions, this may be the last chance to source her available items, so keep this in mind.

Hunter's Dagger |

Rupturing - On a hit, the target becomes Ruptured for 3 turns. |
- This is pretty much one of the best Act 1 daggers you can get your hands on, and it's right at home in the hands of your Rogue, especially when dual-wielded with another dagger or other finesse light weapon. Rupturing is a devastating status to passively inflict on each hit, as it prevents the enemy from disengaging or moving by inflicting them with damage for every 3ft they move. Furthermore, your Rogue will have proficiency with this dagger, meaning they also unlock the Lacerate action to inflict Bleed, the Piercing Strike action to inflict Gaping Wounds, and the Flourish action to inflict Off Balance. Pair all this with Sneak Attack, and you'll be able to stack quite a bit of bonus damage per turn.

Gold Wyrmling Staff |
320 Gold |
Rare |
+1d4 extra Fire damage Fire Bolt - cast at will |
- This is a pretty decent staff to get your hands on in Act 1. You can equip it to a caster such as your Wizard, Druid, or Sorcerer to not only add some extra Fire damage to physical hits, but also for the Fire Bolt Cantrip, which you can cast at will. Fire Bolt is one of the best early-game Cantrips due to it being one of the higher dice rolls, so by gaining it through this staff you will free up a cantrip slot from your level selections to take something else.

Bow of Awareness |

Seldom Caught Unawares - Gain a +1 bonus to Initiative Rolls |
- This is a brilliant Bow in the early game for Rangers or Rogues, particularly builds that need to pump Initiative with Alert and other measures to ensure acting early in each combat; for example, Assassin Rogue/Gloomstalker Ranger/Gloomstalker Assassin Multiclass.

Blooded Greataxe |
380 Gold |
Rare |
Relentless Revenge - When the wielder has 50% HP or less, deal an additional 1d4 Slashing dmg. |
- The Blooded Greataxe is a great Act 1 or early-to-mid game pick for the likes of a melee frontline tank Class—someone who always plays in close range and is therefore often losing a chunk of their own health in exchange for dealing big damage. Barbarians, Paladins, and Fighters are the best choices here, particularly the Barbarian, as Relentless Revenge works quite nicely with the reduced damage of Rage. This will help maintain HP under that 50% threshold without going too low, whilst also dealing bonus damage both through Rage and Relentless Revenge.

Monster Slayer Glaive |
380 Gold |
Rare |
Monsterslayer - Deal an additional +1d4 damage against monstrosity-type foes. Refined Vaulting - Jump distance is increased by 1.5ft. |
- The Monster Slayer Glaive works very well with melee classes such as the Fighter. This is because Glaives are a STR weapon, meaning Fighters are an effective class to use them with, and Fighters benefit nicely from Refined Vaulting as their jump is already strong beforehand, making them even more mobile. Lastly, Monsterslayer is a huge perk, as many key fights in Act 1 involve Monstrosities, such as the Gnolls.
Best Magical Items to Buy From Roah Moonglow in Act 2 & 3
Roah does not stock any new items in Act 3, though you can still purchase from the available inventory she had during Act 2.

Ne'er Misser |
310 Gold |
Rare |
- Deal Force damage on hits instead of Piercing damage Magic Missile - Cast at Lv 3 once per Short Rest. |
- Ne'er Misser is quite unique compared to other bows, as instead of dealing regular Piercing damage on successful arrow hits, it will inflict Force damage. This is very useful when it comes to overcoming occasional obstacles, such as resistances. In addition to this, the user will be able to cast Magic Missile once per Short Rest. This makes Ne'er Misser a brilliant bow for many DEX-based builds, such as Rogues (particularly Arcane Tricksters), Rangers, and Bards.

Armor of Devotion |
3200 Gold |
Rare |
18 AC Eternal Devotion - Gain 1 Channel Oath Charge per Long Rest |
- The Armor of Devotion is pretty much explicitly designed for Paladin builds and Paladin Multiclasses. This is because it not only provides them with a solid 18 base AC that will enable them to play that melee frontlining role, but also provides them with more utility via an extra Channel Oath charge every Long Rest.

Drakethroat Glaive |
960 Gold |
Rare |
Draconic Elemental Weapon - Cast at lv. 3 once per Long Rest Vicious Dragon Breath - Enemies have Disadvantage on Saving Throws against your Dragonborn Breath Weapon |
- The Drakethroat Glaive essentially provides a permanent buff to your weapon through the Draconic Elemental Weapon and Vicious Dragon Breath combination. This is because it is not a Concentration-based mechanic, meaning going down, taking damage, and other factors won't interrupt these perks. This alone is enough reason to make the Dreakethroat Glaive worth picking up.

Gloves of Crushing |
160 Gold |
Rare |
Crushing Blows - The wearer gains a +1 bonus to unarmed attacks, and their damage deals an extra +2 Bludgeoning. |
- The Gloves of Crushing are a nice little find, buffing the effectiveness of Unarmed Strikes. This makes them a nice fit in many Monk builds, as this Class primarily utilizes Unarmed Attacks, or certain Unarmed STR-based Tavern Brawler builds seen with some Fighters and Barbarians.

Marksmanship Hat |
24 Gold |
Uncommon |
+1 bonus to Ranged Attack rolls +1 bonus to Thrown Attack rolls |
- This is a bit of a unique item. However, the Marksmanship Hat can actually be very useful in specific builds. Some archer builds may be able to benefit from the +1 ranged attacks. In contrast, this item also fits very nicely into STR-based thrown weapon builds such as the Barbarian/Fighter Tavern Brawler + Nyrulna build.
