Tieflings are one of the many races in Baldur's Gate 3, and players are introduced to a whole host of Tiefling refugees very early on in the game at the Emerald Grove. Descended from the devils of the Nine Hells, it's safe to say that Tieflings are treated by many with a certain degree of suspicion.
Baldur's Gate 3: Most Underrated Classes, Ranked
Each class in Baldur's Gate 3 is unique in one way or another. However, some great classes are often overlooked in favor of other, more obvious ones.
There are three subraces of Tieflings in Baldur's Gate 3, these being, Asmodeus Tieflings, Mephistopheles Tieflings, and Zariel Tieflings, all descended from certain archdevils. Regardless of the subrace, all Tieflings are instantly recognizable by their horns and forked tails, and some of the best characters in the game happen to be Tieflings. Of course, players can also create their own Tiefling to play as.
5 Arabella
A Mischievous Child Who Goes Through A Lot
- First found: The Emerald Grove, Act 1.
- Subrace: Asmodeus Tiefling
At first, Arabella is nothing more than a mischievous child who thinks she is helping her fellow Tieflings by stealing a sacred idol. However, it turns out she is in real danger, and even if players save her life in Act 1, she is in store for some deeply saddening events later on.
Nevertheless, despite her age, Arabella shows strength by pulling through everything that is thrown at her, and it turns out she has a purpose of her own to fulfill, all of which is explained by Withers, or as she likes to call him, Bone Man. It's safe to say that she's one of the more interesting Tieflings in the game.
4 Zevlor
A Stout Defender Who Falls On Bad Times
- First found: The Emerald Grove, Act 1.
- Subrace: Asmodeus Tiefling
Zevlor is one of the first Tieflings whom players will come across, as he is the leader of the refugees, and helps defend against a goblin attack. His subsequent argument with Aradin is then rather entertaining and depending on how the player decides to intervene, there are some fairly funny outcomes. Throughout Act 1, Zevlor shows himself to be a good leader, who always has his people's welfare on his mind.
Baldur's Gate 3: Best Parties For Lore Playthroughs
These party members will offer players the most lore-friendly and character-driven playthrough in Baldur's Gate 3.
However, during Act 2, players might begin to hear stories that paint the Hellrider in more cowardly ways, as he supposedly told his fellow Tieflings to surrender before all was lost. Thankfully, if players are able to find Zevlor in the Mind Flayer Colony, they will be glad to discover that his actions were due to the infiltration of his mind by the Absolute. Despite the fault not being his, Zevlor still feels guilty for failing his people, especially as a sworn Paladin.
3 Alfira
An Endearing Bard Lost For Words
- First found: The Emerald Grove, Act 1.
- Subrace: Asmodeus Tiefling.
Alfira is one of the many Tiefling refugees found in the Emerald Grove, but unfortunately, the woman she was apprenticed to as a Bard, died on the road. Players can help Alfira complete a eulogy for her fallen master, either by performing alongside her, or by encouraging her with kind and inspiring words.
If successful, players will soon get to see Alfira return to her naturally happy self, and one day they may get to see her dreams come true. This is because if players manage to help keep her alive, along with all the other Tieflings which happens to be one of the hardest achievements in Baldur's Gate 3, she will make it to the city of Baldur's Gate, where Bards can make a true for themselves. Here she can be found on the rooftop of the Elfsong Tavern and will inform the player that she intends to open up a bardic school, continuing the legacy of her fallen tutor.
2 Dammon
A Charming Mechanic & Trader
- First found: The Emerald Grove, Act 1.
- Subrace: Asmodeus Tiefling.
At first glance, Dammon may just appear to be another trader at the Emerald Grove. However, if players have Karlach in their ranks, he quickly becomes integral to her storyline. This is because Dammon is not only a trader and a blacksmith, but also an infernal mechanic and the only one who can fix her infernal heart.
Baldur's Gate 3: 10 Longest Quests, Ranked
Players should buckle up for the long haul before attempting these lengthy quests in Baldur's Gate 3.
In doing so, Dammon's gentle and charming nature shines through, and paired with his beautiful eyes, many players wish he was a romanceable character in Baldur's Gate 3. As players progress through the story, and as long as he is kept alive, Dammon can be found in different locations depending on the Act.
1 Karlach
A Wild & Willful Warrior Who Just Wants A Hug
- First found: On The Risen Road near the Toll House, Act 1.
- Subrace: Zariel Tiefling.
Karlach, the Fury of Avernus, is not only the best Tiefling in BG3 but is easily one of the best characters in general. As an Origin character, she is available to play from the off, but if not, players will soon run into her and hopefully not make the bad decision of chopping off her head at the behest of false Paladins. Free at last from Avernus, Karlach is determined to never go back to hell at any cost and wants to start enjoying life again after a decade in servitude.
She is wild, willfully, and always up for a fight as long as it's against those who deserve to have their heads smashed in. What makes Karlach so endearing is the easygoing, fun-seeking soul beneath her fierce facade, and, due to her overheating infernal heart, she simply longs for something as simple as a hug. If players have Karlach in their party, they can expect many moments of laughter thanks to her unfiltered reactions, and yet she is also capable of delivering some of the most heartfelt moments of the game.
