Baldur's Gate 3 takes its lore from the Forgotten Realms, including its deities. They have a huge pantheon, but some are more involved with the plot.

Piercing damage is great for ranged or stealth attacks, and those with a desire to get behind enemies or just stab them from a distance will enjoy some of the best weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3 that allow for such a sinister act. After all, not everyone in the game is willing to be allies.

6 Rupturing Blade

2~9 Damage

Zhentarim hideout in Baldur's Gate 3
  • Where To Find: Help the Zhentarim during the Find the Missing Shipment quest to obtain from Brem
  • Effects: None
  • Weapon Actions: Piercing Strike, Weakening Strike, Flourish, Searing Blood

Whilst the Rupturing Blade does not feature any notable effects, that does not mean it is without claim to a great Piercing damage in Baldur’s Gate 3. On its own, it can be a competent weapon, but considering it has 4 weapon actions, including Searing Blood, it proves itself as a bounty. Searing Blood can deal fire damage to opponents, but it could cause some Slashing damage to backfire into the player.

5 Twist of Fortune

2~9 Damage

Speaking to Gerringothe Thorm in Baldur's Gate 3
  • Where To Find: Dropped from Gerringothe Thorm in the Reithwin Tollhouse, Reithwin Town
  • Effects: Twist of Fortune – When you roll 2 or less with this weapon’s damage die, reroll it and take the new result
  • Weapon Actions: Tenacity, Heartstopper, Concussive Smash, Blood Money

A gold-encrusted Morningstar is bound to hurt, especially when it’s provided with Piercing damage. What’s interesting about the Blood Money effect that grants additional Piercing damage is that the damage increases per 300 gold that the target has.

Baldur's Gate 3: 10 Things To Do If You Are Starting To Feel Bored

There are plenty of ways to keep Baldur's Gate 3 feeling fresh. Here are some options players should consider if they're starting to feel bored.

However, the gold will be consumed during the attack. What helps the Twist of Fortune is the fact that they get double the chance to actually attack, so hopefully there are fewer misses this time around.

4 The Watcher’s Guide

1~8 Damage

Baldurs Gate 3 Withers Class Change Respec Dank Crypt Jergal Statue Button-1
  • Where To Find: Inside a sarcophagus within the Dank Crypt
  • Effects: Death’s Promise – When the spear misses its target, the wielder’s next Attack Roll against that target gains True Strike
  • Weapon Actions: Rush Attack

True Strike is a lovely addition to this spear weapon, as it means that players will have an Advantage on Attack Rolls for 2 turns. Additionally, having a Piercing spear is always a bonus thanks to its reach capabilities. Pair that with an effect that means that if players miss they will have more chance in their next turn to successfully hit, then players are in for a good time, even when bad luck is on the player’s side.

3 Shortsword of First Blood

2~14 Damage

Drow Tav and Greymon arrive in duegar camp in the Underdark
  • Where To Find: Looted from a Deep Gnome corpse in the Underdark (X:73, Y:-187)
  • Effects: Break the Unbroken – Deals an additional 1d8 Piercing to targets that still have all their hit points
  • Weapon Actions: Flourish, Piercing Strike

This uncommon shortsword is what players are going to want if they initiate combat and decide to poke their enemies before they even have a chance to react. The Shortsword of First Blood provides a potentially devastating bonus of Piercing damage, but only to enemies that have not yet lost any hit points, meaning it can only really come in handy at the beginning of a fight.

2 Crimson Mischief

5~16 Damage

  • Where To Find: Kill Orin in the Temple of Bhaal
  • Effects: Prey Upon the Weak – This weapon deals an additional 1~4 Piercing damage against targets with 50% of their hit points or fewer. Redvein Savagery – When you make an attack with Advantage, the target takes an additional 7 Piercing damage (Main Hand Only) Crimson Weapon – When you make an attack with your off-hand weapon, you can add your Ability Modifier to the damage of the attack (Off Hand Only)
  • Weapon Actions: Flourish, Piercing Strike

The weapon of none other than the twisted Orin, the Crimson Mischief is a brilliant Shortsword of the Legendary rarity. Whilst dealing a moderate amount of Piercing damage, it is enhanced by the extra damage properties of Necrotic.

Baldur's Gate 3: 10 Unusual Race, Background, And Class Builds Worth Trying

With near-endless creative opportunities in Baldur's Gate 3, some players have created some genuinely unusual builds.

Whether players use it as an Off Hand or Main Hand, there are bound to be bonuses to Piercing damage, paired with the default effect that grants extra damage to enemies with 50% or less health.

1 The Sacred Star

4~14 Damage

Vicar Humbletoes who sells the sacred star
  • Where To Find: Purchased from Vicar Humbletoes in the Stormshore Tabernacle
  • Effects: Radiant Strike – On a hit, inflict 1 turn of Radiating Orb upon the target. Sanctified Weapon – Undead Creatures struck by this weapon are possibly Turned
  • Weapon Actions: Tenacity, Heartstopper, Concussive Smash, Dawnburst Strike

Belief is a strong thing, and considering The Sacred Star believes it is good at hitting things, players best have faith it can do just that. Paired with an extra damage property of Radiant damage, the Sacred Star can be a fun and brutal weapon, especially when it can provide enemies a -1 to Attack Rolls and Turn undead creatures.
