Consume the Slack-Skinned Head Mind

If you decide that the Slack-Skinned Head is not worthy of your help and decide to consume its mind after a dialog with it, you may be disappointed with the consequences of your choice. We recommend you not to choose this option, as you won't get any benefit from doing so. In addition, you will be disapproved of by all the companions who do not support the ethically bad choices. However, you will still get the approval of characters like Astarion.

Purge the Slack-Skinned Head Mind

Instead, we recommend that you make the other choice, as it can give you a good reward without losing your companions' approval rating. If, as a result of the conversation, Slack-Skinned Head convinces you to help it, and you choose to purge its mind, you will receive an Advantage on Intelligence Saving Throws that will be permanently locked on you. Additionally, if you have companions like Wyll or Karlah in your party, you will have them approve your choice.

If you haven't yet gotten the Waking Mind to insert it into the Mind-Archive Interface and speak to the Slack-Skinned Head, you need to do the following:

  • Complete the Brain Puzzle located in the Necrotic Laboratory. For this puzzle, you'll need to match the colored brains with their corresponding symbols.
  • You have to be careful that the lines do not cross each other.
  • After completing the puzzle, you will unlock the door, opening which you will get access to various loot, including the Waking Mind.
