Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive RPG that you can sink many hours into. Act 3 continues this trend by finally bringing your party to the titular city of Baldur's Gate. The city is a much larger area than the first two acts, and it can be intimidating at first. There are all sorts of secrets scattered around the city's streets and underground sewers.
While exploring the city, your party members may end up afflicted with the Sea Plague. This is a unique ailment that can only be acquired by entering a certain area. This guide will explain the area where you can catch this disease and how to cure it.
Baldur's Gate 3: Disable The Steel Watch Walkthrough & Foundry Location
Follow this guide to find out where the Steel Watch Foundry is in BG3, and how to shut down Gortash's mechanized army in one fell swoop.
The Lustrous Lass
The Lustrous Lass is a ship docked at Grey Harbor. You will find it at the coordinates (X:-181, Y:-231.) It is situated to the south of the Grey Harbor Docks fast travel point and directly to the east of the Water Queen's House. You have to jump onto the dock as it is separated from the rest of the Harbor. It can be used to get behind or escape the nearby Counting House.
There is a sign placed on the barricade out front that states the ship is currently quarantined due to the risk of plague.
Sea Plague Effects
As soon as your characters step onto the ship, they will roll a Constitution check. If the check is failed they will catch the Sea Plague. It's easy to notice as your affected party members will be covered in thick red slime with insects buzzing around them. The Sea Plague will give the character Disadvantage on most dice rolls. Disadvantage means that your character will roll two dice and be stuck with the result of the lowest result. This will lower your chances of succeeding anytime dice are thrown/rolled.
How to Cure Sea Plague
You can read the notes on the corpses onboard to piece together the fate of the Lustrous Lass. Move towards the back of the ship to find a Gilded Chest sitting near the railing. Open this chest for some loot and a nasty surprise.
Your party will be attacked by a Cursed Imp. This flying creature may not seem threatening, but it can quickly defeat you. It can cast Ray of Sickness and leaves behind a trail of poisonous acid. The real threat is its Caustic Retort condition. All damage it receives will be thrown back at you three times stronger. Choose your strongest character to end it with one attack so they are the only ones to lose health. If you get lucky, you can shove it off the side of the boat. The Imp will then quickly drown in the harbor. Defeating it removes the Sea Plague from all your characters and the ship.
If you missed the chest and kept exploring, you can use Lesser Restoration to remove it. However, your party can still catch it again if you return to the ship.
