Your first task will be to rescue Halsin from the Goblin Camp, where he is being held captive. So, you must take the side of the Druids because if you help the Goblins, you will lose the opportunity to recruit Halsin to your party. Recruiting Halsin is more challenging than other characters because he is not an Origin Character. Follow the instructions to rescue Halsin from prison:

  • Go to the Goblin Camp and head towards the Shattered Sanctum.
  • Cross the wooden bridge and enter through the door marked Worgs Pen.
  • Upon entering the prison, you will witness goblins torturing a bear. Eliminate the goblins and release the bear from the cage.
  • Once all enemies have been defeated, you will discover that the bear is a character named Halsin.
  • After killing the three True Soul leaders of the Goblin Camp, speak with Halsin.
  • When you return to the Emerald Grove, Halsin will be standing in your camp.

To recruit this character, you must complete additional quests to get Halsin to join your party. Follow these steps to recruit him:

  • Once you are in the Shadow Cursed Lands in Act 2, look for the Last Light Inn, where a cursed man named Art Cullagh is lying. He will tell you that to break the curse from the land, you must find a boy named Thaniel.
  • Go back to the camp and talk to Halsin.
  • Return to the Last Light Inn and talk to Art Cullagh.
