While exploring the world of Faerun in Baldur's Gate 3, players will encounter a variety of burrow holes and crevices. Upon interacting with these environmental elements, fans may find that they are "way too big" to enter them. Despite that indication, it is actually possible to pass through burrow holes and crevices in Baldur's Gate 3, and this guide contains information on several ways in which players can do exactly that.
Baldur's Gate 3: Should You Give Lady Esther The Egg?
There is an ethical issue with giving Lady Esther a Githyanki Egg in Baldur's Gate 3 on top of the physical consequences of the decision.
Updated on April 1, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Burrow holes and crevices are common sights while playing Baldur's Gate 3. There are a plethora of methods players can use to squeeze through these tight spaces. Some of these methods depend on the character's class, like a Druid. Players can also take advantage of the wide variety of spells at their disposal to change the shape, form, and size of a certain character, making it possible to go through burrow holes and crevices.
How To Enter Burrow Holes In Baldur's Gate 3
In order to enter a burrow hole, players will need to use a very small character in Baldur's Gate 3. In fact, the character will need to be even smaller than a standard Gnome or Halfling, and here are details on how to hit the size requirement:
- Players that have access to a Gnome or Halfling character can use Reduce (a Level 2 Transmutation spell) to shrink them to a size that is capable of entering burrow holes. For the uninitiated, that spell can be learned by Sorcerers and Wizards, and it can also be found as a Potion or Scroll.
-
If a player does not have access to a Gnome or Halfing, they can use
Disguise Self
(a Level 1 Illusion spell) to transform a character into one of those races. Fans can then cast
Reduce
on the disguised character to allow them to enter burrow holes.
- Players that have access to a Level 2+ Druid in Baldur's Gate 3 can use their Wild Shape action to transform into a cat, which is able to enter burrow holes.
-
Players can use
Gaseous Form
(a Level 3 Transmutation spell that can be learned by Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards) to make a character capable of entering burrow holes.
How To Enter Crevices In Baldur's Gate 3
Crevices are slightly larger than burrow holes, making them easier to enter. Indeed, small races in Baldur's Gate 3, like Gnomes and Halflings, can pass through crevices without needing to be under the effects of the Reduce spell, and characters that are disguised as a Gnome or Halfing can do the same.
Alternatively, players can cast Reduce on a character of any race to make them capable of entering crevices. The aforementioned Gaseous Form spell and Wild Shape class action can also be employed, and this assortment of options should make it possible for most parties in Baldur's Gate 3 to send a member through a crevice.
