The Leap of Faith trial in Baldur's Gate 3's Gauntlet of Shar is receiving some changes. The Gauntlet of Shar is one of Baldur's Gate 3's many important challenges that play a huge part in the story. And while the set of trials are tied deeply to fan-favorite character Shadowheart, even those who aren't fans will need to run the Gauntlet to complete Act 2 and gain access to a portal to Shadowfell.

Baldur's Gate 3's Gauntlet of Shar involves three trials that requires players to solve puzzles that will not only reward players, but will add more backstory to Shadowheart, should she be present during this portion of the game. The aforementioned trials are the Faith-Leap Trial, the Self-Same Trial, and the Soft-Step Trial. While these tests aren't overly difficult to solve, creative fans of the series have utilized Baldur's Gate 3's flexibility and found many easy solutions that have made the tasks way easier. However, new updates have sent some fans worried about the Gauntlet of Shar.

Reddit user alyssaryn shared a screenshot which involves adjustment to the Leap of Faith trial in the Gauntlet of Shar. According to the developers, they removed a solution wherein players can cheese Baldur's Gate 3's Leap of Faith by clicking the final platform and letting the characters figure out their way to the end. They even jokingly mentioned that it was a change that the Goddess Shar requested.

What Change Was Introduced in the Gauntlet of Shar?

Some fans from the comments section were highly surprised that this technique was possible. Some shared the techniques they used, which included the use of Misty Step, among others. The game mechanics' flexibility allows players to solve Baldur's Gate 3 puzzles by being creative. Many have praised the ingenious ways that some gamers have figured out various trials. While one simple technique has now been removed, it's possible that there are many other ways die-hard fans can still complete the Faith-Leap Trial.

A few people on the comments section believed that Larian Studios shouldn't have patched this technique. Most of the concerns involve the simplicity of the trial. As creativity is a big factor for many Baldur's Gate 3 fans, patching out one solution seems like such a cop-out for the developers. If not for inventive solutions being discovered by players, many things wouldn't be possible, such as the recruiting Baldur's Gate 3's Minthara. Hopefully, the developers can focus on keeping the game fluid, playable, and up-to-date, rather than patching out genius solutions being discovered by fans.
