Honour Mode is Baldur's Gate 3's biggest challenge to players. All decisions are permanent, and reverting to the previous save is impossible, meaning players are stuck with the consequences of their actions, good or bad. When a player's party is wiped out, the Honour Mode run is officially a failure, making it extra brutal for those who make it far into the game before dying. As spotted by The Gamer, a new mod over on Nexus Mods has popped up titled "No Second Chances - No Rerolling with Inspiration." It does exactly what the title implies - it removes the ability for players to reroll their failed D20 checks using Inspiration in Baldur's Gate 3. According to creator yoonmoonsick, this adds "true tension and consequence in every decision" and "forces you to live with the results of fate."

This would prove particularly brutal for those playing Baldur's Gate 3's Honour Mode. It's not explicitly designed for the game mode, but it would definitely have the most impact there. As it stands, Inspiration remains one of the fail-safes for players who fail a particularly difficult dice roll, giving players another chance for fate to be on their side. Without this, what's done is done, and players are left to tackle their adventure no matter what the D20 determines. In Honour Mode, the removal of Inspiration could even be the difference between the run ending and continuing. There are various mods that make Honour Mode harder in Baldur's Gate 3, but this might be the toughest yet.
It's great to see a wide variety of mods still being released for Baldur's Gate 3. With Larian officially moving on from the game, it's now in the modders' hands to keep the game alive with new and interesting content. The good news is that Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the best PC games to start modding thanks to its thriving community, and there's no indication that creators will slow down any time soon.
