Baldur's Gate 3 has released a new hotfix that addresses some of the game's vendor-related issues. These problems were introduced after Baldur's Gate 3's recent Patch 6.
Baldur's Gate 3 released Patch 6 last week on February 16, and while fans were excited for the first major update since Patch 5 in late November, their hopes were quickly dashed when the update seemed to introduce many more problems than it did features. Fans have dealt with a wide variety of bugs, some severe enough to stop playthroughs in their tracks. Naturally, users have eagerly waited for Larian Studios to solve these new issues, and the first wave of fixes has just arrived.
All Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6 New Legendary Actions Explained
Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 6 adds new Legendary Actions to several bosses, making certain Honour Mode fights even trickier than before.
Baldur's Gate 3's Hotfix #18 is now live and fixes two of Patch 6's prevalent bugs. Firstly, vendors should now properly display their current gold amount instead of initially displaying zero. Secondly, players should no longer crash when beginning to barter with a vendor. Additionally, Larian emphasized that it is continuing to work on fixes for bugs introduced with Patch 6. It further explained that if users are experiencing issues, they should try uninstalling any mods if they haven't tried to do so already. Larian did not mention when fans can expect the next hotfix, but in recent months the studio has rarely released two within the same week, so fans may have to wait until next week for another update. However, this is only speculation, and Patch 6's many bugs will hopefully lead the studio to release hotfixes with a quicker tempo.
There are still many issues in Baldur's Gate 3 that were introduced by Patch 6, so it's clear that Larian still has plenty more problems to solve. Although Patch 6 caused some bugs, it also added a set of fresh features by introducing new camp animations, kissing animations, quality-of-life improvements, and more.
Following the recent issues, Baldur's Gate 3 continues to steam along by taking home another five trophies at the AIAS' recent DICE Awards and reaching half a million Steam reviews. The massive amount of user reviews amount to an Overwhelmingly Positive rating of 96%, showcasing the game's widespread appeal.
Baldur's Gate 3 was successful enough that Larian is planning to open a new studio. This would be the company's seventh studio and will apparently be located somewhere in Poland. Larian has confirmed that it's working on its next game but has yet to reveal any details of the project.
