Baldur's Gate 3 is full of unique interactions with many NPCs that players will encounter during their travels. They will make friends and enemies as they work towards Baldur's Gate. One potential and useful friendship is with Lump the Enlightened.
Lump is the leader of a group of Ogres, and players can strike up a deal with him to become temporary allies. He will give them an item called 
Lump's War Horn if they are successful. However, they may have to fight their way out of the situation if they fail. So, here's how to get Lump's War Horn and if and when you should use it in Baldur's Gate 3.

How to Get Lump's War Horn in Baldur's Gate 3
Players must find and befriend Lump in Act 1 to get his horn. Lump is in the Blighted Village, a destroyed town just south of the Goblin Camp. Lump the Enlightened will be standing with a group of Ogres inside a small hut to the left of the village entrance (X13, Y370). Once players approach him, they will be sent into dialogue immediately.
Players should save before talking to him in case they fail the dice roll.
Players must convince Lump that they aren't food by passing a Deception check. If they have been to the Goblin Camp and received the Absolute's Mark, they can show that to him instead and get the same result. Lump will explain that he works for the Goblins because they offer him food and gold.
Players will then get a chance to get him to fight for them instead. They can do this by passing a Deception or Persuasion check. The checks are high, so using Guidance or another bonus is a good idea.
Lump will then give players Lump's War Horn. If they fail the checks, he won't attack, but they can't get the war horn.
How (and When) to Use Lump's War Horn
Players can use Lump's War Horn to summon Lump and two additional Ogres to fight with them during a battle. The War Horn can only be blown during active combat and must be used before leaving Act 1. Good times to use Lump's War Horn include the Goblin Camp, the Githyanki encounter before the Mountain Pass, or fighting in the Underdark.
After the fighting, players can convince Lump to ally with them again using another Deception check. They can do this three times in total.
Calling upon Lump outside of combat will end with him attacking players.
Players should consider attacking Lump after their deal is complete to get the 
Warped Headband Of Intellect from him. This uncommon item increases the wearer's Intelligence level to 17. The horn is useless from Act 2 onward, so remember to use it before then.
