In Baldur's Gate 3, it is possible to add various creatures to the party. One of the familiars is Shovel the Quasit, which can be summoned when players locate a special scroll. It can be easily found in the first Act while exploring the Blighted Village. This familiar is one of the best in the game, as she can stealth and then scare enemies. She is very cheeky and sarcastic, so she always makes everyone smile when speaking with her. Players will also receive an achievement when they summon Shovel.
BG3: Where to Find the Scroll of Summon Quasit
By following the instructions below, Baldur’s Gate 3 players will find the scroll and summon this familiar:
- First, players should head to the Blighted Village. Right next to the waypoint stone, there is an entrance to a dilapidated building that is actually an Alchemist's shop.
- After entering the building, players need to go straight ahead, and at the coordinates X:33; Y:374, they will find Wooden Hatch.
- Once down there, players will come to the basement, which serves as a lair for the Alchemist. There, players will see 3 boxes in the corner.
- Remove the top one, and there will be a lever behind it. After pulling the lever, the cabinet on the right will move and open a passage in the wall.
- Follow the path to get to a meadow with several caskets. Players will need to open the Mouldering Casket on the right just as they enter the meadow. Inside it is the Scroll of Summon Quasit. Other Mouldering Caskets contain skeletons and zombies to fight, so be careful.
BG3: How to Summon Shovel the Quasit Familiar
The scroll is disposable, so players can use it immediately if they do not need a familiar in the party. Using the scroll will summon Shovel and initiate a dialogue with her. Additionally, players will receive the Rude, Crude, and Full of Attitude achievements for this action. To add Shovel to the party on a permanent basis, players will need to use a wizard character, such as Gale. They should add the scroll to his inventory, right-click on it, and learn the spell for 50 gold.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC and PS5, with an Xbox Series X/S version also in development.
