A new rumor has suggested that Baldur's Gate 3 could be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 port in the future. Larian's legendary CRPG is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but it seems Baldur's Gate 3 could be on the way to Nintendo's latest console.

The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 has seen plenty of third-party developers bring their titles to the latest console on the market. There has been no shortage of surprising Switch 2 ports, with the likes of Star Wars Outlaws, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk 2077 already making their way to the platform, and more on the way. However, Larian's Baldur's Gate 3 hasn't yet entered that conversation.

Baldur's Gate 3 Could Be Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Prominent leaker NateTheHate first raised the possibility of Baldur's Gate 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 a few days ago, but said they "need more verification on it" before they can share anything further. But in a follow-up post a few days later, they claimed they "will have an update on that soon," sparking further rumors about the possibility of Baldur's Gate 3 on the Switch 2.

Of course, this should be taken with a massive pinch of salt. Larian has yet to comment on a possible port, even if Baldur's Gate 3 and the Nintendo Switch 2 feel like a match made in heaven. The game's slow-paced gameplay and excellent co-op gameplay could be perfect for the Nintendo Switch 2, so it would be interesting to see how it would work. Equally, there would be some curiosity about the performance of Baldur's Gate 3, which notoriously slowed quite heavily throughout the Lower City in Act 3. How Larian could potentially address this with the hardware restrictions of the Nintendo Switch 2 would be fascinating to see.

Although a Nintendo Switch 2 port feels well within the realm of possibility, Larian is largely done with Baldur's Gate 3. Its last major update launched back in April 2025, adding new subclasses, Photo Mode, and crossplay. However, Larian has continued to release small Baldur's Gate 3 patches to fix minor, easy-to-fix bugs that linger in the game. That said, the majority of the studio's focus is seemingly on its next game, which remains unknown.
