Baldur's Gate 3 has announced that its third patch is set for next week, which will coincide with the game's full release on a new platform. Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 has become one of the highest rated games of 2023, right next to Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and is being celebrated and talked about as one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

Larian Studios, formerly known for work on the Divinity franchise, took the reins of the fabled Baldur's Gate series for this long-awaited third-installment. The franchise was started in the late 90s by BioWare, and it's been well over 20 years since the last mainline installment. Due to this, Baldur's Gate 3 had enjoyed quite a bit of buzz from RPG fans leading up to its launch last month, but few had anticipated it becoming one of the very best games in a year packed with behemoth legendary franchises like Final Fantasy, Diablo, Street Fighter, Star Wars, and a ton more.

Since its PC release, Larian has been supporting Baldur's Gate 3 with plenty of hotfixes and patches despite the game running optimally at launch. On Twitter, as part of a well-deserved accolades post, Larian let fans know that Baldur's Gate 3 will receive its third major patch next week on September 21. Additionally, Larian confirmed that the critically acclaimed fantasy RPG will have its full release on Mac on the very same day.

Unfortunately, Larian's Tweet didn't include any patch notes, so the exact changes that are coming to the RPG on September 21 are yet unknown. With the game out on PC and PS5, and coming to Mac next week, Larian also has yet to announce the date of Baldur's Gate 3' s confirmed arrival on Xbox. Recently, Larian decided it'll bring the game to Xbox despite it not being able to run in split screen on Series S, and confirmed it'll launch on the platform before the end of the year. Though, with the sheer volume of new video games still set to release in this year's final months, exactly where Baldur's Gate 3' s Xbox debut will land is unclear.

Baldur's Gate 3 initially launched on PC in a polished state, but many players reported the game growing more unstable as they progressed. It's great that Larian has been keeping up support with patches since launch and committing to bringing what many believe is one of the best RPGs ever to more platforms. The studio is sure to release the patch notes for this third patch sometime in the coming days as it prepares to go live on September 21.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC and PS5, is coming to Mac on September 21, and is in development for Xbox.
