A Baldur's Gate 3 player has excitedly discovered a new Shadowheart camp animation in Patch 7 that sees the half-elf cleric of Shar take part in an adorable interaction with Scratch, the most loyal dog in western Faerun. Released in 2023, Baldur's Gate 3 became a huge success for the Belgian developer and publisher, Larian Studios. Referred to by fans and critics as one of the greatest RPGs of all time, BG3 offers fantasy lovers not only a unique cast of loyal companions to play with, but also an immersive world filled with incredible stories, iconic creatures from Dungeons and Dragons, and a comprehensive combat system that's broken into a series of thrilling rounds.
Since the game's launch, fantasy players have been unearthing plenty of interesting features and secrets hidden away on Baldur's Gate 3' s massive map that may not have been noticeable on their first playthrough. One of these is a hidden detail on Kagha's cape that hints at her true intentions, adding yet another layer to the game's lore. However, over the past year, Larian Studios has not rested on its laurels and has continued to refine some sticky elements of the game with numerous updates.

Each Baldur's Gate 3 Origin Character has its positives, but some are better suited for an initial playthrough than others.
On Reddit, a Baldur's Gate 3 player was overjoyed to find a wholesome interaction added in Patch 7 that sees the usually stoic Shadowheart get a brand-new animation in which she reaches down to give Scratch a friendly pat on the head. Fans in the comment section have stated that it's about time Baldur's Gate 3's Scratch, the faithful companion to Gomwick, his former master, received some well-deserved attention from the camp's party.

In Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 notes, the team mentioned that Shadowheart would be more engaged with the flora and fauna at camp, but players weren't prepared for such a pure animation from the secretive and private half-elf cleric of Shar who, with some hard work, is also romanceable. Along with this new Shadowheart camp animation, Astarion now has idle animations at camp that aren't just him reading a book, and Karlach will no longer brush the shaved side of her head while she's standing around at camp.
It's fantastic to see the studio continue to improve Baldur's Gate 3. Even though Larian has started work on its next project, it's anyone's guess as to what its next game will be, but fans do know it won't be Baldur's Gate 4 at least.
