As Larian Studios announced on Twitter, PlayStation 5 players have accidentally been able to install Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8. Larian informed players that this was a mistake and that they should not have access to the highly awaited update. The developer is currently working to find the root of the problem and deliver a solution, as it still doesn’t seem to fully understand what is going on. It also warned players about potential issues with save files, as those who access patch 8 will not have compatibility with saves from patch 7.

Some PS5 Players Can Access BG3 Patch 8, But Larian Advises Against Downloading It

It looks like not every PS5 player has been able to access Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8, as some players responded to Larian’s Twitter confirming they have no update available on their accounts. Patch 8 will be the last major update for BG3, introducing 12 new subclasses along with many eagerly awaited features. Among these is cross-play, which will allow players to join multiplayer games with friends from any platform, featuring cross-platform progression and multiplayer lobbies using the Larian Network.

Moreover, a new photo mode is coming with patch 8, making it much easier for players to take screenshots from almost any angle with various customization options. Baldur's Gate 3 patch 8 is currently going through stress testing as Larian ensures the update is polished before release. Even though PS5 players may be excited about the accidental release of the update on their platform, the developer advises against downloading it, as it may cause issues.
