Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3

It's safe to say that PlayStation gamers are very interested in Larian Studio’s latest title. After the game’s successful launch on PC, Baldur's Gate 3 pre-orders for PS5 have dramatically spiked. At the moment, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the most pre-ordered PS5 game, taking the lead against other fairly popular titles such as Mortal Kombat 1 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This would easily put it among the most eagerly awaited PS5 games in 2023.

Now that the game is out on PC, many players are wondering about the future of the franchise, and what Larian Studios will create next. Larian’s boss Swen Wicke recently affirmed that the team would like to work on another Divinity title in the future, but did not confirm whether gamers could expect a DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3 or even a sequel anytime soon. According to Wicke, the studio will take a break after the current game, as the devs have not stopped working since Divinity: Original Sin 2 was released. In any case, gamers have a lot to expect, as the game will continue to receive updates, and will be released for PS5 soon, followed by the launch of the Xbox Series X/S version, which still does not have an official date.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out now for PC with a PS5 version releasing on September 6. An Xbox version is also in development.
