Despite being in the Early Access phase of its Open Beta, Battlefield 6 has already broken the all-time peak concurrent player record of its predecessor, Battlefield 2042. Signs of its impending massive player count were already there, with thousands waiting in Battlefield 6 server queues before the game even launched.

On August 6, a day before the Early Access Open Beta, it was reported that over 40,000 players were waiting in Battlefield 6 queues. Even before that, tens of thousands were checking out the game's Open Beta client, which only featured a handful of menus at the time. These were seen as early signs that the Battlefield community, and perhaps multiplayer FPS fans in general, would show strong interest in the upcoming game, something now confirmed by the latest statistics.

Battlefield 6 Has Reached Over 330,000 Concurrent Players During Its Early Access Open Beta

According to SteamDB, Battlefield 6's Early Access Open Beta on Steam reached over 330,000 concurrent players, roughly 67% more than Battlefield 2042's peak on the platform. Nearly two years ago, Battlefield 2042 peaked at just over 107,000 concurrent players. Now, its successor has more than doubled that figure before even being officially released. It's also worth noting that Battlefield 6's Open Beta is available not only on Steam, but also on Xbox and PlayStation, meaning the actual concurrent player count was likely even higher than the reported 330,000.

Battlefield 6 fans looking to join the Open Beta can already download the beta client on their preferred platform. However, the Early Access phase is limited to select groups of players: those with a Twitch Drop code, those with an active EA Play Pro membership, and those who signed up for Battlefield Labs before July 31. It's also worth noting that players still have a chance to claim a code by watching a Battlefield 6 streamer on Twitch right now for at least 30 minutes.

Players who don't meet the requirements for Early Access shouldn't lose hope. The global Open Beta for Battlefield 6 kicks off on August 9 and will run for 24 hours. A second phase of the global playtest begins on August 14 and will last for four days, concluding on August 17. Fans can also rest assured that, due to the Open Beta's popularity, the developer is already working to expand server capacity to ensure everyone can join the action without issues. It's not clear whether there will be more playtests in the upcoming months leading up to the launch. However, it has been confirmed that Battlefield 6 will launch in just under three months, on October 10.
