Assault rifles pack a mean punch compared to most other weapons in Battlefied 6. They can adapt to most engagement ranges while still dealing decent damage to their targets, and while these weapons have to deal with a bit more recoil than carbines or SMGs, assault rifles outshine the latter two categories when used correctly.

This guide covers all the guns in the assault rifle category, comparing them to each other to find the best AR in BF6. We've ranked them according to their versatility across the common engagement ranges for this weapon type, though we'll still be going into smaller details of each weapon to help you find the best one for you.

Best ARs in Battlefield 6

  6. L85A3
  7. SOR-556
  8. AK4D

Considering the usual engagement ranges across many maps in Battlefield 6, players will want to use an assault rifle that can compete against other weapons between the 10 and 80-meter marks. The Kord is our top pick because its high accuracy, low recoil, and tremendous fire rate make it suitable for every firefight. Meanwhile, the AK4D is at the bottom because of its specialized role as a mid-long-range battle rifle that somewhat struggles in close quarters.

Kord 6P67

BF6 Kord 6P67 stats

This assault rifle is basically a bigger version of Battlefield 6's M4A1 in terms of performance and overall feel. The Kord deals less damage at close range, but it has significantly less recoil, much better accuracy, and a 2-round burst feature that makes it incredibly easy to use against targets 80+ meters away. This might not be the fastest-killing assault rifle, but its consistency over the usual engagement distances is unmatched.

The Kord's fire rate can be a detriment for some players. Since it fires so quickly, you'll end up wasting more bullets when you miss your shots. It's also more prone to overshooting targets, potentially making multi-target fights a bit trickier. These are minor nitpicks, however, as whether or not a Kord user wins a gunfight all boils down to pure skill.

M433

BF6 M433 Stats
Battlefield 6 M433 Stats

The M433 is a beast in close quarters, and when you build it right, it becomes quite decent at longer ranges too. This rifle can take an opponent down in 4 body hits within the 10-meter mark, and with its fast 830 RPM fire rate, you'll be outgunning the majority of the other assault rifles, including the Kord 6P67.

However, the M433's recoil can be a little hard to get used to. It tends to swing to the right when shooting, and even with attachments, there's still a noticeable rightward kick when you shoot this gun at times. It's nothing that can't be compensated for, but the jerky recoil can potentially throw your shots off at times.

NVO-228E

Though the NVO-228E fires more slowly than the latter two assault rifles, it deals more damage over range, making it more consistent when fighting at the 40+ meter mark. This rifle's recoil is also a lot more stable than the M433's, and it's pretty accurate too, even with weapon bloom working against you.

The NVO-228E is the perfect gun for players who care more about ease-of-use than time-to-kill. It performs excellently even without attachments, and with the right build, this rifle becomes extremely reliable. Still, you will likely get outgunned in a close-range, head-on firefight if they're using either of the two assault rifles above, but there's a trick — the NVO-228E can kill in 3 body shots from 5 meters away. Keep that in mind.

B36A4

BF6 G36 Stats

This weapon is very similar to the NVO-228E in terms of overall performance. It's designed for mid-ranged fights, but with a fire rate of 720RPM, it's a lot more competitive in close quarters compared to the NVO-228E. The recoil on the B36A4, both visual and actual, is much more subdued than the M433's and NVO's, making this rifle feel buttery smooth when fully kitted out.

There's really nothing to complain about. The B36A4 is placed perfectly in the middle of all the assault rifles in Battlefield 6. It's a jack of all trades, so treat it as the standard that all other ARs are based off of.

TR-7

Our first impressions of the TR-7 were horrible, to say the least. The gun kicked too harshly to the left when firing, and it starts suffering from accuracy bloom by the third bullet of a burst. However, after giving it a fair shake, we've found that the TR-7 is hands-down the strongest assault rifle for close quarters. This thing gives every other AR within 20 meters a run for its money, and it's on-par with the M277 carbine in terms of damage at 75 to 80 meters.

Of course, the TR-7's recoil is still its biggest downside. Good attachments make the gun much easier to use, but it is still a terrible weapon for medium range.

L85A3

Speaking of medium range, the remaining weapons on this list are all about those 40 to 80-meter fights. Among them, we've found the L85A3 to be the most reliable. Its accuracy, recoil, and fire rate are all perfect for its intended engagement distance, and it can hold its own against other weapons in close quarters well too.

The L85A3 is a bit harder to control than the SOR-556, but not by much. Think of this rifle as the in-between of the SOR and the NVO, and if you like either of those guns, you'll probably like the L85A3 as well.

SOR-556

BF6 SCAR-L Stats
Battlefield 6 SOR-556 Stats

While the SOR-556 isn't a terrible gun, its low fire rate holds it back from being competitive in close quarters compared to the other assault rifles. However, it is still very deadly in those medium-range fights, and while its accuracy is a little finnicky, it gets the job done more times than not. Its greatest strength is its extremely low recoil, and it is much more comparable to the UMG-40 SMG than any of the other ARs.

The SOR-556 is mainly good for big maps like Operation Firestorm, Mirak Valley, and even Liberation Peak, where there are plenty of long sightlines. Players with good aim can use Hollow Points or Synthetic Tips ammo on the SOR to make it significantly more effective when hitting headshots.

AK4D

BF6 AK4D Stats
Battlefield 6 AK4D Stats

The AK4D can chew up anyone between 40 and 80 meters, but due to its slow fire rate of 514 RPM, it tends to get beaten by most other weapons in an upfront gunfight from 10 to 25 meters. This battle rifle shares the same damage profile as the M/60 machine gun in BF6, which means it can kill with 3 bullets from 10 meters away, and 4 bullets from up to 75 meters away.

Even with its high close-range lethality, the AK4D is still very susceptible to getting outmatched in close quarters, as missing shots with such a low fire rate is more punishing. It's not a horrible weapon, but its effective engagement distances are more limited compared to the others.
