There are dozens upon dozens of weapons in Battlefield 6, but the majority of the arsenal is locked behind rank requirements and challenges. Battlefield 6's starting weapons are surprisingly good, however, and they remain competitive even at higher levels.
Some Battlefield 6 starter weapons are quickly outclassed by other guns in the same category, but you can keep using some default weapons even after reaching the maximum level in multiplayer. A lot of this comes down to attachments and loadout design, which means you'll have to stick with these guns in order to bring out the best in them.
All Weapons in Battlefield 6
Looking for a complete breakdown of all Battlefield 6 weapons you can use in the game? Here's all 45 of them listed by weapon type.
Best Battlefield 6 Starter Guns
Overall, the best starter weapon in Battlefield 6 is the M433 Assault Rifle. It's an aggressive close-range rifle with a high fire rate, but it's incredibly hard to control without any attachments. Once you unlock some grips and accessories for the M433, however, it becomes much easier to handle. It's well-suited for close-range firefights and long-range engagements.
If you prefer something that's better in close-quarters combat, then the M4A1 Carbine is another excellent choice. It's the default Carbine, and it's one of the strongest weapons in the entire category. It hits even harder than the M433, but you'll have to work harder to control its recoil. With the right attachments, it competes with even the best Assault Rifles.
After you have a few matches under your belt, you'll unlock the PW5A3 SMG at level 6. This is the MP5, a classic Submachine Gun that's been featured in basically every first-person shooter of the last few decades. It's better than the starting SGX Submachine Gun with a smoother recoil pattern, higher damage output, and gorgeous iron sights that free up space for attachments in other slots.
Finally, the M2010 ESR Sniper Rifle is one of the strongest weapons in the game, despite being a default weapon. It's highly accurate and works well at extreme distances. It may not be as hard-hitting as the PSR, but it can still nail one-shot kills hundreds of meters out. Plus, you can attach a canted sight to boost its close-range capabilities
Even after you rank up and unlock more weapons in Battlefield 6, these starting guns still remain capable. Attachments make a huge difference in Battlefield 6, so using a low-level weapon with more attachments unlocked is usually a better idea than immediately adopting a shiny new weapon right after unlocking it.
