Battlefield 6 preloads are now available for the game’s upcoming Open Beta, with players able to prepare themselves ahead of time by downloading the beta client ahead of its earliest start date of August 7. While doing this, it’s important to note the Open Beta for Battlefield 6 will be available first for Early Access players, before later becoming available to all players starting August 9.
The Open Beta for Battlefield 6 will be available on platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. Before jumping in, PC players are encouraged to review the system requirements for Battlefield 6 to ensure they get the best experience possible. It’s also worth brushing up on the inclusion of EA’s proprietary Javelin anti-cheat system, which it recently confirmed will be present in Battlefield 6 at launch.

It’s also recommended by the developer for players to link their EA account to the platform where they’ll be participating in the Open Beta if they haven’t done so already. According to EA, each Open Beta weekend for Battlefield 6 will give players the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards that will be available in the game at launch.
Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive will be the maps of focus for the first weekend of the Open Beta, while the second weekend will see the addition of Empire State. Modes for the first weekend include Conquest, Breakthrough, Closed Weapons Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill, with the second weekend adding Rush and Squad Deathmatch. As for weapons, according to DICE Producer, Alexia Christofi, Battlefield 6 will feature significantly more weapons at launch than are currently available in the Open Beta.
The exact number will be closer to 40 available weapons versus the original pool of 22 weapons that launched in Battlefield 2042. DICE has also clarified what Battlefield 6's approach to matchmaking will be, confirming that while skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) will be present, it will play a lesser role in large-scale modes like Conquest compared to smaller modes like Team Deathmatch.
