The Battlefield 6 beta is proving to be incredibly popular on Twitch, as over 820,000 users have tuned in to watch their favorite streamers play the highly anticipated EA title. While Twitch Drops may be driving a portion of this viewership, Battlefield 6 promises to return the franchise to its former glory after the missteps of Battlefield 2042, and many are likely tuning in to see if the developers have truly kept their word.
Following the recent release of its multiplayer trailer, players are eager to jump into the newest Battlefield title, which promises to bring back popular mechanics from past games while also introducing new ones. Currently, the beta is only available to those who managed to snag a code, but Battlefield 6's open beta isn't far away, scheduled to run from August 9-10. This early look at the game will include three maps, each with its own unique and diverse setting: Liberation Peak, Iberian Offensive, and Siege of Cairo. Five modes will also be available, including Battlefield staple Conquest and King of the Hill. It seems that many players are finding it tough to wait until Saturday to get their fix, with hundreds of thousands tuning in to watch their favorite streamers experience the new title for the first time.
Battlefield 6's Beta Server Issues Are Already Sounding the Alarm
Players are already eager to load into Battlefield 6's open beta, with reported server issues hopefully not being a consistent issue going forward.
The Battlefield 6 Beta Has Pulled in Over 820,000 Viewers on Twitch
At the time of writing, over 820,000 are watching streamers play Battlefield 6 on Twitch, beating out the total viewer count of the Counter-Strike, Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends, and Just Chatting categories combined. Many are likely watching to simply enjoy their favorite personalities discussing the new game, but on top of that, those who don't currently have access to the beta can receive a code by tuning in for just 30 minutes. Additionally, fans can snag several weapon and character skins by continuing to watch beyond the 30-minute mark. Despite not opening until August 9, the queue for the Battlefield 6 open beta continues to grow, with many game servers already at max capacity.
The developers of the first-person shooter are already starting to take player feedback, recently announcing that the sniper scope glint in Battlefield 6 would be toned down in scale for launch. Battlefield Studios is hoping to gather ample feedback over the course of its beta testing as it continues to polish the game for its October 10 launch.
According to the dev team, the inspiration for Battlefield 6 was largely Battlefield 4 and Bad Company 2, both considered by fans to be two of the best games in the franchise. This has only boosted player excitement, as 2021's Battlefield 2024 failed to hit the mark due to technical issues, gameplay changes, and a lack of overall features.
