Battlefield 6 players are definitely in for a wild ride when booting up the game for the first time, with a range of multiplayer modes that are each fun in their own unique way. While those who want to focus on getting as many kills as possible may gravitate toward CQB playlists like Team Deathmatch and Domination, Battlefield is known for its classic large-scale modes, such as Conquest, that ramp up the action with all-out battles across massive maps.
Battlefield 6 is no exception, letting players jump into Conquest, Breakthrough, and Escalation, all of which feature wide-open maps complete with vehicles. However, players who find themselves constantly being taken out by vehicles may be looking for the best ways to deal with them. In this guide, you’ll find the best counters to use against vehicles in Battlefield 6, from taking on tanks to shooting down helicopters out of the sky.
Battlefield 6's Battle Royale Needs These 7 Features
Battlefield: RedSec is the upcoming Battlefield Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6. However, the mode could definitely benefit from these features.
Anti-Vehicle Mines
The very first counter to vehicles that players will have access to right away is the Anti-Vehicle Mines, which are exclusive to the Engineer Class. Of all the Gadgets players can use against vehicles, the Anti-Vehicle Mine is without a doubt the best option for dealing with ground vehicles like tanks, IFVs, and more.
Anti-vehicle mines can be deployed on the ground, and when a vehicle drives over one, it will detonate, dealing massive damage. They serve as an excellent “set and forget” tool and, when placed in key areas such as roads leading to objectives or common flank routes, can easily one-shot vehicles that fail to spot them in time.
Rocket Launchers
The Engineer Class has access to a variety of different launchers, all of which are excellent counters to specific types of vehicles. Free-fire launchers are generally the go-to choice for engaging ground vehicles like tanks, with the RPG-7V2 being the most popular thanks to its high rocket velocity. When using a free-fire launcher, players should aim for the top, rear, or sides of a vehicle to deal maximum damage. Lock-on launchers like the MAS 148 can also be used effectively against ground vehicles.
Air vehicles are also highly vulnerable to launchers. While free-fire launchers are harder to use against aircraft, low-flying helicopters can often be taken out with a single RPG-7V2 shot if you’re able to lead your aim properly. However, it’s best to utilize guided missile launchers like the SLM-93A or MAS 148 to lock onto aircraft and bring them down. Although all guided launchers can lock onto targets, painted targets are much easier to track and eliminate efficiently.
Other Vehicles
Sometimes, when it comes to taking out vehicles, players will have to fight fire with fire. Nearly all vehicles in Battlefield 6 serve as excellent counters to one another, with several being specifically designed to take down certain targets. The best example of this is the Mobile Anti-Air Vehicle, though tanks, jets, and helicopters also have tools that can be used to destroy enemy vehicles effectively.
Below is a breakdown of how to use each vehicle to take down other vehicles with ease:

Honorable Mentions
While all the above Gadgets and tools are definitely the standout options for taking out vehicles in Battlefield 6, there are still a few other counters that players can try. While they might not be as easy or effective, they can still be useful when combined with the more powerful options. Here are some honorable mentions for effective counters against vehicles in Battlefield 6:
- AV Grenade (Engineer Class): A throwable grenade that deals moderate damage against ground vehicles. It’s most effective when thrown onto the top of a vehicle.
- C-4 Explosives (Recon Class): A remotely detonated explosive charge that’s best used against ground vehicles. When multiple charges are stacked on the same vehicle, they can cause massive damage.
- Laser Designator (Recon Class): Although it doesn’t deal direct damage, this tool is used to paint targets, making them easier to track and lock onto with guided launchers.
