Battlefield 6 Season 1 Full Breakdown
Battlefield 6 Season 1's content will be split into three major drops, one each month starting October 28, with the final drop arriving on December 9. All the content coming to the game will be completely free for Battlefield 6 owners, with the only exception being the Season 1 Battle Pass. Here is a full breakdown of the content coming with Battlefield 6 Season 1:
Rogue Ops (Oct 28)
Rogue Ops kicks off at the start of Season 1 on October 28, bringing a sizable chunk of new content into the game. Rogue Ops introduces Blackwell Fields, taking players to the California backlands of a newly recommissioned American air base. The map supports all combat sizes and includes both land and air vehicles for applicable modes.
Rogue Ops also introduces a new game mode called Strikepoint, a 4v4 mode where two teams must fight to capture an objective across multiple rounds. Players only have one life, meaning rounds can be won or lost once all members of a team are eliminated, or if the objective is successfully captured. The mode takes place on CQB-scale maps, similar to those featured in the Close Quarters Battle playlist.
A new vehicle also joins the fight, the APC Traverser Mark 2. This land vehicle features a roof gunner and two passenger backseat gunners and is designed to fend off enemy infantry. That’s not all though, as Rogue Ops also brings several new weapons and loadout options. These include:
- SOR-300C: A carbine with a low rate of fire and above-average damage. Uses.300 Blackout ammunition by default.
- Mini Fix: A lightweight bolt-action sniper rifle similar to the Scout Elite.
- GGH-22: A sidearm equipped in the secondary slot. It features high ammo capacity, a high fire rate, and low damage.
- Rail Cover & Low-Powered Variable Optic: Two new attachments that are available for Rifles and LMGs.
California Resistance (Nov 18)
California Resistance begins on November 18, introducing the new map, Eastwood, into the mix. Eastwood takes players to a golf course and Californian suburbs, featuring drivable golf carts and supports all combat sizes, along with land vehicles and helicopters for applicable modes. The new mode, Sabotage, also debuts with California Resistance, where two teams of eight must battle it out to defend or attack different sites before the round timer ends. The team that detonates the most sites wins the match.
Battle Pickups also return on November 18, serving as powerful weapons that players can find in the wild. The specific weapons available have yet to be revealed. Moving on to current loadout options, California Resistance brings the following:
- DB-12: A dual-barreled pump-action shotgun that can fire two shots with two pulls of the trigger before needing to be rechambered.
- M327 Trait: A sidearm equipable in the secondary slot. It’s an eight-chamber revolver with high damage and a low fire rate, designed primarily for CQB combat.
- Slim Handstop: An alternative to underbarrel attachments that improve ergonomics and handling.
Winter Defensive (Dec 9)
The final drop for Season 1 is Winter Defensive, starting December 9, which brings Ice Lock Empire State into Battlefield 6. This map variant is a frozen take on Empire State and will only be available for a limited time before reverting to its regular version once Season 1 ends. Winter Defensive also introduces the Ice Lock Event, a new gameplay modifier that will only be available in select experiences, most likely in modes set on Ice Lock Empire State.
The only other piece of content currently confirmed for Winter Defensive is the arrival of the Ice Climbing Axe. This melee weapon joins the existing lineup of knives and the sledgehammer.
All the weapons featured in Battlefield 6 Season 1 will be unlockable through the Season 1 Battle Pass for free. The Battle Pass will initially feature four tracks, the first four of which will roll out with the upcoming content drops, with a fifth track that can be unlocked once the previous tracks have been completed.
When Does Battlefield: RedSec Release?
Battlefield: RedSec is Battlefield's very own free-to-play Battle Royale mode launching alongside Battlefield 6 Season 1. Battlefield: RedSec will be playable on October 28 at 8 AM PT / 10 AM CT / 11 AM ET / 3 PM GMT and can be pre-downloaded along with the Season 1 content at 2 AM PT.
